I have a problem when i'm at FL250 TAT-2* and not -25*

I do install acrive sky 2012 with not sp1?

How can iFix it

It's an occasional bug in the data. I usually have to shut down AS and restart it, and allow it to load new data. Some can get it to fix just by clicking on the refresh button on the AS window.

If AS2012 is in DWC mode, try changing it to Standard under Wx Options > Depiction Mode.

Standard mode is only good for GA flying. DWC is best when flying tubeliners, esp the NGX.

That means GA flying and tubeliners!?!

Word.

Sorry, you got me. Word ???

If I was just flying GA aircraft, Standard mode is fine. If you want realistic upper winds etc flying the NGX, use DWC.

Usual culprit for high TAT is FSINN. Can you confirm you are not using it.

Means I agree with you. :Nerd:

Sebastien, this is one of the recurring problems with both ASE and AS2012. DWC mode does send correct temps to FSX. Temps and winds are gleened at discreet altitudes (3000, 6000, 9000,...., 30,000, 34,000, etc.) and DWC mode only changes to correct depiction when at least 200 ft above one of these discreet altitudes. So, particularly when climbing or descending, you will find the temperature change lagging considerably. Once it reaches that 200 feet above mark (or 200 feet below on descent) it will suddenly adjust the temperature very rapidly to again be in sync with the level it just passed. In the NGX or any other very sophisticated simulation this will negatively impact engine performance.

Many of us have put tickets in to HiFi about this but even their latest Beta did not solve the problem. Using Standard mode will provide the most reliable winds/temps depictions even though it will require you to put up with the occasional frame rate hit when it upgrades weather every 5 minutes or so. There also are some very definite cloud depiction issues with both Standard and DWC modes, but that is off topic.

My suggestion, then, is to always use Standard mode for airline as well as GA flying and you will find that temps/winds will be depicted most accurately at all levels and they will be continuously adjusted as you climb and descent instead of only at discreet levels. Engine performance will therefore most closely match the RW for the weather you are flying through.

Craig,

can you not disable the auto update in standard mode?

Standard mode definitley provides the most accurate winds and temps but that god awful stutter makes me just unable to stand it, so I use DWC and refresh it occasionally. This is handiest if you can run it on a second pc.

Randy Swofford

do you need any extra software to run it on another pc?

Just have to setup simconnect there's a good tutorial on their website.
