May 8, 200422 yr I would suspect the configuration file. Rename the config file from FS9.cfg to FS9.org or make a backup copy of FS9.cfg, then delete the original. Start FS9 and see if it works now. If you are now able to select a flight then exit FS9 and it will build a new config file. You will have lost anyt customized key assignments and the like, but you can use NotePad to copy and paste those from the old config file if you wish. R-
May 8, 200422 yr Open Windows Explorer and look at your My Documents folder for a subfolder labelled Flight Simulator Files. If you don't have this folder or if you moved your My Documents folder from its original location,Win2K/XP:drive:Documents and Settings(UserName)My Documents (drive equals the disk drive where Windows resides, usually C:) and UserName is the account you are using.Win98/ME:C:My Documentsyou need to restore the folders to the correct location.W. May 8, 200422 yr hy guys!i deleted the fs9.cfg . started fs9 and i could see old setting with 800x600 res. and so on.... then i tried to choose a flight and the same thing :( BUT: when i started i again , i first switched news, then create a flight (or what this is called in eng version) and settings.... all menus work as well as before... then choose a flight, and the menu comes with no flights (i forgot to tell you this, because it was also before i removed the cfg. ) so all stays the same. the menu appears without flights and then freezes! :(still nothing... dont want to reinstall it all, because theres so muich add on software ....
May 10, 200422 yr Try going into the my documentsflight simulator files directory, and delete anything that has a .tmp extension. I have this problem once in a while, and this always fixes it for me. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
