HELP - Reactivating CRZ mode in FMC

Hello,

 

Am currently in the air and when descending to meet my flight plan from FL400 to FL380, the FMC has went into descent mode. When i enter the cruse altitude it just keeps going back into descent mode.

Can anyone help.

the FMC cannot go back once its started a Decent. Its just not standard operations. Normaly the only time you might decend well before the TOD, is for avoiding weather/other aircraft etc. Your flightplan should not have a lower alt built into it untill TOD.

If you change the Cruise Alt and reset the MCP, you can change cruise without entering the descent mode.
