Would it matter if I installed a wide screen aircraft panel on a normal size laptop monitor? Would the panel come out stretched? Thanks!

Aren't laptops equipped with wide screen as a standard?

If you own any laptop with a 4:3 screen (never seen one) then yes, the 2D panel will be squized (as opposite to streched).

If you use virtual cockpits (3D), there will of course be no difference.
