  1. KCLE for sure! I would also like to see UDYZ redone and AES compatible (the freeware scenery is outdated and there is no AES support).
  2. I suggest FS Earth Tiles. It allows you to get satellite imagery from Google, Yahoo, and Bing. It's a nice free program and I found it easy to use.
  3. Here's the link for everyone's convenience: http://flisti.com/65421
  4. Merry Christmas fellow FS9 simmers! Long live FS2004!
  5. As far as I understand from their Facebook and Twitter accounts, Venesim is in the process of assembling a new PC, so they're still alive! I wasn't aware that they were working on a final version for the Superjet 100 model, but if that's true, that'd be nice!
  6. I'm still with FS9 and I'm loving it!
  7. Luxembourg photoreal scenery w/ autogen, night and seasonal textures for only 10 bucks. Looks interesting... http://www.scenerysoft.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=6
  8. What program are you using to downsize these textures? Also, does anyone know of a way to downsize multiple textures at once?
  9. I'm lovin' the love my fellow FS9 simmers are showing for my home airport (Zvartnots) and airline (Armavia) and...I'm itching to make a flight sim vid with the Superjet 100 in Armavia colors at UGEE (now UDYZ). To contribute something to the topic - I believe there are two different Superjets being modelled. One by "Rulexy" (the author of the Superjet 100 in the Avsim.su forums) and the newly released one by Venesim, whose author goes by "bozman-80" on Avsim.su. I got to fly the unfinished one by "Rulexy" a few months ago, which I still have installed my system - in comparison, the model by Venesim is more accurate. Using Google translate, I understand that "Rulexy" has completely remodelled the aircraft, and from the screenshot he provided, it looks like quite an improvement.
  10. Thanks for the heads up! There's also a Superjet 100 being developed on the Russian Avsim.
  11. These are some really nice shots, very nice!
  12. Hi everyone, Was wondering which Airbus A310 is overall better (features wise, model, etc.)? I see that there are two, one payware from CLS and another freeware from HNAC. Thanks in advance! Also, want to note that HNAC will be closing their site and forums very soon.
  13. Thanks for sharing...sounds great, looking forward to it!
  14. Thanks! Of course I do and I will for sure feature Zvartnots Int'l Airport in my future videos. I know, I too am disappointed that it has no AES support.
  15. Hi everyone, I've been looking for Denis Minaev's FiftyNorth 737 Paint Kit and could not seem to find it anywhere. I searched on fsrepaint.ru, Avsimrus.com, FlightSim.com, Simviation.com, etc and couldn't find the file. The topic below has a post by Denis with a screenshot of his blank paintkit textures: http://www.freeskyproject.com/topic/37902-fsrepaintru/page__st__80 I would really appreciate it if anyone could provide this awesome paint kit.
  16. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the AlphaSearcher2.zip file is the newer version, right? I'm also assuming that we do not need to download AlphaSearcher.zip in order to install AlphaSearcher2.zip
  17. Thanks for your input! I also was thinking something along those lines.
  18. Hi everyone, I was wandering about when the Follow-Me Car is used by pilots. I'm assuming that charter flights use them much more often than regular flights. Also, I'm guessing that Follow-Me Cars are requested more in bad weather conditions when pilot can't see as clearly while taxiing. Any thoughts? Thanks!
  19. Wow, this looks like a really really good addon for FS2004. This is truly payware quality! I think people will be more interested if they see some screenshots of this bird. Screenshots: http://www.opus2.ch/page_7.htm
  20. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FS2004! Still have plenty of work to do on this sim!
  21. Thank you for the reply and clarification. I believe I understand it now.
  22. Thank you for the reply, but in the most respectful way, I apologize, I didn't understand your explanation. Do pilots ignore the PAPI lights at a certain point during their approach as the video claimed at 5:38?
  23. So, this is what I understand - the PAPI lights direct you to the Aiming Point Markings on the runways (which are the two big solid rectangles) - and this is where a pilot aims the aircraft for the landing? Alsom pilots maintain a balanced (meaning two red, two white) PAPI lights throughout the landing phase? - So pilots do not ignore the PAPI lights as the video claims?
  24. Hi everyone, Got two questions regarding PAPI lights: 1.) Does every airline pilot make a "perfect" approach in regards to having two PAPI lights white, and the other two red throughout the landing phase of the flight? 2.) Do pilots just ignore the PAPI lights at a certain point during landing? I found this flight sim youtube video (link below) which explains that at some point during their landing (when they're really closing to touching down) pilots just focus on getting the aircraft centered. Is this true in real life? Please skip to 5:38 in the video for the explanation Thanks!
