July 29, 201213 yr Flight Simulator 2004 is 9 years old ! Is it still the number one like last year ? Georges - OpenStreetMap - Ubuntu GNU/Linux -
July 29, 201213 yr  Awesome! I know it is starting to slowly become #2. At a VA I fly with, it has just recently been passed by FSX by # of users. But hey, #1 for all the years its been going and then to still be fighting for the #1 spot is great! I know I won't be going to FSX anytime soon, have uninstalled it twice now and it's going to stay that way. / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot
July 29, 201213 yr Happy Birthday 2004! I also still have plenty of work to do on this sim. My FS Videos
July 29, 201213 yr 9 years, eh? Don't think its lifespan is anywhere near ended yet :P What a fantastic simulator B) David
July 29, 201213 yr HAPPY BIRTHDAY FS 2004!.... ....! Since FS '98 > FS 2000 > FS 2002.... ....FS 2004 still works wonderfully for me, and is full of surprises...(and still surpasses my copy of FSX).... ...! I think it will be with us for a long time yet, especially amongst we keen Multiplayer Pilots, with our amazing FS Navigator! With a few carefully selected add-ons, and a few .fs9 tweaks, it can rival FSX in many ways, and is often much "smoother" at maximum settings! I love it to bits!.... ...! Paul.... ...!
July 29, 201213 yr Closing in on a decade eh? What an excellent run it has been thus far! Happy Birthday FS9, and cheers to the community and developers that keep you looking and running great after all these years, I applaud you all. :Applause: Thanks for all your contributions, hard work, and passion. Now that I got the formal talk out of the way.........It's party time! Mobo/CPU: MSI Z490-A PRO - Intel Core i7-11700K (8 cores - 16 Threads) @5Ghz (CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S) GPU: SAPPHIRE PULSE Radeon RX 5600XT 6Gb GDDR6 RAM: 32Gb (4x8Gb) TEAMGROUP T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 3200Mhz CL16 Storage: Samsung 980 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD 500Gb & addlink 1TB SSD NVMe PCIe 3.0 M.2 PSU: EVGA 750BQ 80+ Bronze 750W
July 29, 201213 yr I've been using MSFS since 1999, and I've amassed thousands of hours in FS98, FS2000, FS2002 and FS2004. FS2002 ran well on my out-of-date computer, and I only switched to FS2004 in .... January 2010! Nowadays I have a much faster computer (quad cores OC'd @ 4.6Ghz, 8Gb RAM, 1024MB GPU) and FS2004 runs nicely :) FSX was disappointing at the time (2006). I have a small number of fictional planes from FS98, but they are invisible in FSX. FS2004 is surprisingly compatible to older aircraft and scenery macros! Here's to the next nine years .... then again .... here's to its successor! :) Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
July 29, 201213 yr Happy Birthday FS9 ! You are, and will always be, a very important part of my life.
July 29, 201213 yr Amazing! I have several times removed it only to find myself reinstalling it after a while. I love FSX but FS9 is classic and seems unaffected by time, somehow. FS9... i7-9700K, MSI Z370, PNY 4070 Super, GTX 750Ti, 32GB GSkill, 43" curved Samsung, 32" BenQ, 11" LED, RealSImGear GTN750, Win10, P3DV5.4/P3DV6 and MSFS, several GoFlight modules, Saitek radio, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Virtual Fly TQ6.
July 29, 201213 yr Happy Birthday indeed. FS9 has proven to be an amazingly durable software title, and I'm looking forward to many more years of enjoyment with it. So many places (and planes) left to explore! John G.
