  1. FSGRW for me. IMHO cloud depiction is far more realistic than the alternatives.
  2. Chrome is definitely NOT my browser of choice ever since i noticed the folks at iFly advising users not to download using Chrome since it allegedly was causing multiple issues with their software. That remains the case even today. Hope all goes well. Ah ... the joys of computers.
  3. WingZ perhaps you try could Internet Explorer, standard browser already included in XP or Maxthon which is my preferred browser. BTW simMarket has used that procedure for years for its exclusive software developers. PS. Back on line finally after my computer problems ... mainboard was the culprit. Do you know how hard it is to source a mainboard for a 2 year old cpu?
  4. Good luck getting any support from Blackbox. I purchased the 777 through them and several emails have remained unanswered 6 years later!
  5. Sorry to learn you needed surgery Garry. I sincerely hope your convalescence wasn't too arduous. Again our little, and ever diminishing, community is in your debt. Thank you and stay well.
  6. Jolly good show! Wish more developers would take a leaf out of your book and paint AES vehicles. Certainly adds to both realism and credibility.
  7. It is most unwise to include your email address in a public forum lest you receive all sorts of unsolicited emails coming your way. White buildings is usually a sign of either you are running out of memory or lack of correct texture files.
  8. NTAA is (just) satisfactory. Fiji is terrible in that it does not agree with my FS9 installation and whilst the author replied to my initial communication further correspondence has gone unanswered.
  9. I may well be a guilty party in all of this. When Rex released "Soft Clouds" for P3D and FSX I chose to be a denier and posted a screenshot (P3D forum) showing the use of default clouds in FS9 as an example of truly soft clouds. I believe, if memory serves me correctly, I may have even had the temerity to refer to (the alleged) comment by P.T.Barnum :- 'There's a sucker born every minute.' Jon_aus was kind enough to compliment me for the screenshot and I was surprised, and delighted, to learn subsequently through his posts that he had converted to default clouds also. First impressions count and I note Jon is not convinced Rex is demonstrably better. I realise it is early days yet, however I can't help to be reminded of another homily ... 'A fool and his money are soon parted.' I would wait a little until trusted feedback is posted here before rushing out to buy something which may not be needed.
  10. Last thing I can think of ... against conventional wisdom set AA etc.in FS9 itself, then change nVidiaControl Panel/Inspector to Application Controlled.
  11. Did you fully uninstall the previous drivers and performed a clean install of your current driver? Sometimes things get left behind and play havoc. A clean install starts you off from scratch ... nothing is saved from your previous install.
  12. May I suggest you uninstall Inspector. Instead right-click on your desktop, select and open nVidia Control Panel. Under 3D Settings select/open Manage 3D settings. DO NOT alter Global Settings. Click Program Settings and locate your FS2004 program from the drop-down menu. Add your preferred options and fly. I noticed that I had my stunning looking FS9 back. YMMV.
  13. "Do you use this software yourself? Can you say that it is doing a good job? If so, in what way? If I first identify a problem with process priorities that Process Lasso might fix, then it certainly may be worth installing." Yes. I own the paid version. Yes it does a good job. Yes it is complicated to setup to get the very best from it. No I haven't fully exploited its capabilities ... by nature I am not a tweaker. The author regularly updates the program. I recommend you download the free program, select ProBalance enabled and Gaming mode enabled and see if there is any improvement. Lasso has a small footprint and uses little in the way of resources. It can be a set-and-forget program. I forgot to mention it shows all processes in real time and can keep a log of them for later perusal.
  14. You could also try using the free version of Process Lasso.
  15. Wilco/Feelthere EMB170, EMB190; Feelthere EMB175, EMB195. Tested in FS9, FSX and P3Dv2.5. Should also work in v3 but can't confirm as I haven't upgraded yet.
  16. Once again thank you Alby for your continued support of FS9.
  17. The developer may be on holidays/hospital. In the past he has answered my requests promptly. Alternatives are WalkAndFollow 2004 - DBS Studios (payware) or Flight1's solution whose name I can't remember right now (free) ... investigate their website if no other member chimes in.
  18. Multi Crew Experience (MCE) has supported the iFly 747-400v2 since release. A free demo is available from their website. The application is voice only, supports most of the important airliners for ALL sims, including XPlane, and is more flexible in operation than FS2Crew, versions of which I also own. I have no connection with MCE other than being a most satisfied user.
  19. Just a heads-up. Topic says it all.
  20. Randy I agree with Jon_aus' advice to you. However I have looked at your system specs (as per your signature) and concluded they will be borderline in running the iFly. The 747-400 is possibly the most detailed sim ever produced for FS9 and system resource hungry. The service pack promises to optimise things a little better but there is only so much a developer can do. Forewarned is forearmed although another benefit of the iFly purchase is that Flight1 offer a 30 day refund should you find the aircraft unsuitable for your system.
  21. "Frankly my dear I don't give a damn" Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind. "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink." Old truism.
  22. Huh? iFly has terrific support. True they ask customers to register their purchase to avoid giving pirates access to their support forum. But that that is a simple, transparent and painless procedure. Frankly I can't imagine what, in particular, turned you off them. I'm glad you've acquired the PMDG bundle ... whilst getting long in the tooth now (like me) it is easy to run on most equipment. Happy flying.
  23. Ed I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO love your digs at Oliver.
  24. I note simFlight has advised Update 3 is now available. Apparently 100,000 trees have been added by Tic. Looks good in the photos.
  25. Graeme many thanks for being the guinea pig and the feedback mate. Sounds like Tic has merely ported from FSX version ... can't say I blame him given potential sales.
