  1. Fantastic work! Will be downloading this shortly. As has been mentioned earlier, I am glad I invested in 16gb of DDR3. Once again, great work! Cheers!
  2. Yeah saving and mounting a copy of the disc image should work. Daemon Tools Lite is a free program that will allow you to mount disc images.
  3. No problems here. I am happy with the progress made thus far. The past couple of betas have increased my performance greatly. Now I am able to run in hdr with decent frames. ^_^
  4. Same here unfortunately. And I just switched from a Radeon to an Nvidia graphics card too lol. :LMAO: I am sure the HDR performance will be ironed out before 10.10 releases though.
  5. Hmmm, I see what you're saying Timmer. I also think the runway lights are too dim. I have not had any freeze ups, But I get little micro freezes here and there that last about a second, and my HDR performance seems to be a bit worse at same settings as well. I hope Ben irons these inconsistencies out soon.
  6. Yay! My hat switch sticking issue is gone! :yahoo: Everything is running great for me so far. It's bug hunting time!
  7. Closing in on a decade eh? What an excellent run it has been thus far! Happy Birthday FS9, and cheers to the community and developers that keep you looking and running great after all these years, I applaud you all. :Applause: Thanks for all your contributions, hard work, and passion. Now that I got the formal talk out of the way.........It's party time!
  8. Welcome to the future of flight simulation called X-Plane! Glad to know you are having such fun. The more the merrier i always say. ^_^
  9. Hooray! Now I can use my hat switch again to look around the cockpit! That was my only problem since beta2. Good stuff. B)
  10. Hopefully this gets more folks to buy the sim and see what people have been talking about.
  11. ^^ +1 I am definitely going to be happy about the joystick fix. ^_^
  12. Same here, My sidewinder force feedback 2 is going all crazy. No tension just a loose stick, wacky controls, my hat switch is messed up, and when I tried to do something about it in the controller setup and tried to reset my buttons the interface kept glitching out. Filing a bug report as well.
  13. Pardon me everyone if the following may seem overly defensive or combative. Perhaps I am confused as to the intentions of the OP. If this is the case, I apologize for being off base. I do not wish to make any enemies or anything, I think this is a great community in general, But I come to this section of the forums to read about other X-Plane users' experiences, discuss all things XP, and read constructive criticism about said program. A snarky topic headline and a 9 month old video with no explanation as to why it was posted doesn't fit any of that criteria in my eyes. To OP: You are aware this is a pretty old video from 8-9 months ago before XP10 even came out right? You probably are. Also, What's up with the seemingly patronizing title of this thread? What's wrong with KSEA? I am at a loss here. You didn't even say anything about the video you posted, which, perhaps in my opinion only, strikes me as bizarre. So Austin chose KSEA for the demo, So what? If this is a joke, I don't get it. Please enlighten me.
  14. Thanks Phantom! B) I have an update for all of you. I just purchased a Geforce Gtx 460 256-bit 1gb GDDR5 for 40 dollars on my local craigslist! Now, I know it's not as good as the Gtx 560ti, But it is still much better than my Radeon HD 6770. And aside from that, i couldn't pass up this card at such a low price. I am going to be testing it out in the coming days, I am sure my performance will be a bit better now, especially with HDR enabled. Oh, What goodies you can find on craigslist sometimes! :P
  15. Well I got X-Plane 10 and have been flying it for a few days now. It's a huge difference from XP9! The autogen is just on another level and the lighting and dynamic shadowing is out of this world. I know that the cities are not necessarily accurate, But they are definitely believable and that is what I was looking forward to, Austin's "plausible world". Surprisingly i am running it around 20-30 fps even with HDR on and 8x anisotropic. I expected a slide show to be honest. Granted, This is all with middling settings though, Like buildings set to tons, roads set to mega tons, trees set to filled in, detail draw distance set to medium, clouds set to 15%, and shadows set to static. So X-Plane 10 does have much overhead to upgrade into. I am thoroughly content with my purchase, And look forward to all the great 3rd party products coming down the pike for XP10. Thank you all for your advice and opinions, I am going into my next upgrade cycle armed with all this information. Cheers! :Smug:
  16. Thanks for the great info FloB! Hmmm think I may just focus on getting a new graphics card for now, and worry about my cpu later. Next time I get a new mobo and cpu, I will look for a nice i5 or i7 mobo and cpu. I will either get the 6950 or the gtx560ti graphics card, depending on which I can find for cheaper. Thanks again, You have been an enormous help. :hi:
  17. Thanks again FLoB! Yeah, I think the GTX 560ti is more in my price range. I have also been looking at a radeon 6950. Would you recommend the 560ti over the 6950? I also plan to get an AMD FX 8-core "zambezi" soon as well. Anyone run XP10 with that chip?
  18. Thanks everyone! :Star: To Strider: Hmmmmm, That Beechcraft Duchess looks tasty. Thanks for that recommendation! To GoranM: RealScenery you say? Looking into it now! And that Mitsubishi MU-2 looks sweet. To Phantom88: The 4Forces C152 looks immaculate. And Oooh a Grand Caravan gotta have one! Cheers to you as well friend! To FloB: X-assign looks like exactly what I need since I use a Joystick for copters and fighter craft, and My CH Flight Sim Yoke with the Pro Pedals for everything else. Much thanks for that one! The graphics card upgrade is duly noted, But I have a question on that note. I heard 10.10 is supposed to increase frames/performance for ATI users. Do you think the increase in frames from said patch will be negligible with this card? I have been flying the XP10 demo now and then checking in from time to time, So I am aware of the performance hit i will take from moving from XP9 to XP10. I was gonna see what frames I got after that patch to determine which card I wanted to get for an upgrade. It's funny because I always hear from people I know who fly MSFS that XP has little to no addons, and that is why they won't try it. Sure could've fooled me! So much great stuff, But so little money and time! Think I may start with a RealScenery scenery and probably the Beechcraft Duchess. I am for sure getting the X-assign plugin as well. Next paycheck my friends, It'll be time to melt my credit card! Thank you all so much for being so helpful and such a wonderful community that I am proud to be a part of!
  19. I am finally ready to upgrade from XP9 to XP10. I just ordered a copy and it will be arriving at my home in about a week or so. I thought it would be a great time since 10.10 is about to come out with optimized ATI coding and I happen to be a Radeon owner. Also a Polish scenery video I saw recently on these very forums helped to push me over the edge. Anyway, I already own Carenado's F33 Beechcraft Bonanza for X-Plane 9, Which I assume is compatible with X-Plane 10, Anyone feel free to correct me of course, And I was wondering if anyone had any aircraft and/or scenery recommendations they could give to a "Low and Slow" GA flyer like myself? Also any must-have plugins? Thank you all for your time. :Peace:
  20. I am finally ready to be upgraded from XP 9, so I just bought a copy of XP 10 and it will arrive at my home in about a week or so. I have both a joystick and a yoke setup as well. I hope 10.10 and the new user interface shows up around the same time. :Praying:
