May 31, 201214 yr Hello Captains, I'm in the process of inputting route data into FMC but I keep getting stuck at the initial entries. I'm using CYYZ RWY 24L LEST7 SID. I've loaded my aircraft with fuel cargo etc and now at Route Page 2. It appears like this: RTE VIA TO LEST7 (Vectors) The SID: Climb hdg 237. At 1.6 DME turn left heading 235 or assigned hdg for vectors to assigned route. Maintain 5000 asl. What I want to do is fly the J522 to KLOPS (KLOPS is a turn back to 106 degrees from 235) then to BUF and on down the route. My problem is that I get an invalid entry when trying to enter J522. Perhaps the turn is too sharp, How do I insert a waypont in place of the (Vectors) so that I can get the FMC to steer me around to 106 degrees and onto the J522, as I wont be receiving any ACT on this flight. ? It seems everything I try to input in place of Vectors returns an invalid entry. I've hung the sim 3 or 4 times now trying to set this up , so now I ask for a wee bit of help. Appreciate your time. May 31, 201214 yr You need to give the J522 a starting point, like a FIX or a VOR and then go from there. Don't get rid of the vector. After the vector put YYZ. Then you can link that up with your airway. Matt Cee
May 31, 201214 yr You have to enter entering waypoint of the jetway first. eg. YYZ-J522-KLOPS, VIA TO LEST7 (Vectors) YYZ J522 KLOPS The only way to delete vectors is go onto LEGS page and intsead of (Vectors) put YYZ. You've got the strange route - there is no airways between KLOPS and BUF. In real life you would be vectored right to BUF without making sharp-angle turns. May 31, 201214 yr Author Will try to get a fix in there for a starting point to the J531 to BUF Spin737, thanks. Thanks for input rsvit. The original route took me through ROC and down J522 but I didn't like the way it joined the Lendy5 STAR so I decided to adjust the route to head over to BUF and follow J220 from BUF to the LENDY5 STAR. If real life would clear me direct to BUF, then I will chose that one. Thanks again for your inputs. Ed Ed Burton www.737ngxca.com
