google maps

Recommended Posts

Hello 737-captains,

I updated my fs2crew version to 1.4, but I don't want to use the google maps option. Does the program show my position on the web even though I don't want to use it? Is there a possibility to switch off the tracking function?

Kind regards,

Hi Christian,

Thanks for signing.

Some users have reported that they can't see themselves on the Google Map.

My thought is that your ISP might be blocking Google Services.

Can you ask your ISP.

Cheers,

Hello Bryan,

I think you got me wrong: Actually I don't need the maps function and I would simply like to know if the tracking service is always on and my position is constantly beeing "reported" to google maps...

In fact I am critical with a program sending data through the web even though I don't need that process, you know?

Kind regards,

Christian Baldauf

Sorry, I understand now.

No personal info is displayed in the map (such as your Name), but you can still disable it by opening this file in App Data with notepad:

FS2CrewData.ini

C:\Users\****your user name**** \AppData\Roaming\FS2Crew2010\Versions\PMDG737NGX\SavedData

Change the 1 to a 0 in this line:

MAP=1

That's it!

Cheers,
