My first upload?

Featured Replies

I would like to contribute to the community in some way, though I am not a painter or a programmer. I have recently learned how to remove MipMaps from my aircraft to remove the blurries from the interior, exterior, etc. I have modified the Flight1 C441 interior textures to DXT3 format with no Mips which takes all the blurriness out of the interior textures, and smooths performance a bit. Would it be worth my time to upload these, or has everyone else already done this themselves? I'd just like to author at least one upload in my life. Any takers? If so, could someone tell me how to turn these into a Zip file?cheers!

If it works OK and you think it's worthwhile then I expect someone else would appreciate it also (C441 not my kind of a/c but I know it's popular) . I'd say go ahead and upload it - about the worst thing that can happen is that nobody downloads it ( very unlikely)To make a zip file Start Winzip and follow the instructions( Youmust have winzip - if not it's a free download at ZDnet/CNet/Downloads.com etc.Good luckDave

As the Cessna 441 is a payware addon, you might ask the author/publisher for permission to upload these modified textures unless they were part of a paint kit. Just a thought ...VOlker :]

Thanks, Volker. I did send them an email yesterday and am waiting to hear back. I wasn't sure if I needed permission or not, so I asked them anyway. I'll be sure to wait for their response beforeI proceed. Thank you for the wisdom.:-)

Let me know when you do send them in - I'll be first in line for the download!Best,sg

Although the 441C works fine for me as is, I'd give your contribution a shot just to see if there is any difference.

Hey Scott Gridley, the weather sucks here if you want to play golf, which I do, but great if you want some bumpy IFR work!:-)I've gotten a reply to my email to Flight1, I sent my question to the wrong place. I'll let you guys know what they have to say. Glad to hear at least a few of you would like to try the idea! ;-)
