May 18, 200422 yr Yeah, I too am spoiled by PMDG. I bought the CRJ, and thought it was nice, but then I had to re-install my OS, and somehow deleted the installer file. It tooks over a week of badgering to get Wilco to respond. I did like the A320 PIC, but everybody knows the headaches the developers caused there. The FMC probelm with the CRJ, and the response, reminds me of last year at this time with the A320.I won't buy another non-PMDG aircraft, unless it gets PMDG type reviews. The $70 I spent for the NG is a bargain to all the crap that got installed once, used once, and never touched again.
May 18, 200422 yr Well, like I said, I think the airplane has a pretty good .air file and the model is quite good. There isn't much to do for cockpit preparation (a lot of the switches are just eye candy) but still, most of the important things are there. The sound file is also quite good.Every time we go into the VC model, (my friend and I) the FPS takes a nose dive.....therefore he only uses the 2D model. There are work arounds for the odd "fly to here" by online controllers so its not a total loss. My post here was not intended to get people to stay away from the the CRJ...as a matter of fact, I think if you don't get it you'll be missing out on a great addon. So my recommendation is that you get it. The Final word from the FeelThere developer: Quote:>>>>>Some people are upset about the not fully working FMS because they never read the manual or the forum before the purchase and they had different expectation. There are several payware planes without any FMS for the similar price so we believe we gave more than it was planned. People who say they will not buy future feelThere products are respected by us, but we can't do anything about it. There is no plan to update the CRJ as of now because it's done as it was planned and it's also owned by Wilco now.As we already stated our next plane that will include FMS will be a much more complex because we planned that way from the beginning. People should understand; there are complex planes and there are planes that's easy to set up and fly if you don't have the time to start up the engine in 10 minutes. The CRJ was planned and made that way.Thank youVictor<<<<<<
May 18, 200422 yr I agree that it is a nice plane, but I read all the documentation there was, and found nothing indicating it was not a very complex systems simulation. They list all the workable systems right on the page for it.Ultimately, I think FS aircraft developers need to find a way to release demos of their products- like all entertainment software developers do. I believe the reasons for NOT releasing demo versions and more sinister than what happens when they are released.
May 18, 200422 yr Author I agree 100% -- FSim addon developers should release 10-day demos of their aircraft. If the planes are good, people will pay for them to continue using them after the 10 day demo period. In fact, I'd be happy with a 24-hour full-feature demo, that'd be enough for me to make an intelligent decision to buy it or delete it.
