June 13, 201213 yr I haven't used the C90 for few days and all was normal during the last flight. but today i just don't know why but i'm no longer able to set the autopilot. Display is completly blank. If i depress the heading button or vertical speed button, tool tip shows that the heading is "on" or the vertical speed but i have nothing on the display. I,ve tried to change aircraft and it works with other aircraft but when i come back with the C90 still nothing on the autopilot. Thanks for your help. Real Deraps
June 13, 201213 yr When I have something screwy like that happen, and did not previously happen, I close FSX, cold reboot my system, then start FSX again. I have recently been taking a good number of screenshots in FSX and that eventually causes problems for me where functions start dropping out. Also happens sometimes if I constantly use outside views such as chase plane view. My worst problem seems to come after doing both of the above and then attempting to use instant replay after landing. And I have a pretty robust system! June 14, 201213 yr Author I can't believe that i haven't thought about just rebooting the system. All works fine now. Just wasted time in uninstalling and reinstalling....must be getting old.....Thank you very much. Real Deraps
June 14, 201213 yr You are welcome! You know, my previous system would just get flaky with FSX so I reverted for almost four years to FS9. With FS9 I never had such issues as profiled in my earlier message above. Now I have a fast I7 system with four times the RAM, the graphics card compared to my previous system is many times faster with much more memory, and though finally I can run FSX with acceptable reliability, because my flights average around 1.8 hours, many over 2.5 hours, I have a cold reboot as the first step in my pre-flight checklist for every flight. Still, out of 87 FSX flights since the new system, I've had a handful of lost flights due to unrecoverable situations. When you add the overhead of high-zute environment and terrain add-ons to the more sophisticated aircraft with more sophisticated avionics it just makes sense to start clean each time. June 14, 201213 yr Author It looks like my own situation. I've also upgraded my system last winter to be able to correctly run FSX . Many many problems at the beginning but after hours and hours trying to fix all things, it finally works except few bugs sometimes (like this one with the autopilot). Also good idea to reboot system before each flight. Thanks again. Real Deraps
