NGX repaint Q's

Featured Replies

Hey Chaps,

Starting to repaint the NG

Basics I've got down, but the Shadows....if I select them as an active layer it whites out most of the fuselage

Also the windows seem to be blanked/greyed out so they cannot be looked through in FSX,

Opened up one of the PMDG house liveries "DDS" files and the windows are not painted and you can see the background through them (using Gimp 2.8) where's the one in the paint kit is solid.

anyway around this?

Any ideas guys?

Cheers

The windows will appear painted, but will be clear in FSX. I'm not sure what you mean as an "active layer" with the shadows, but your shouldn't mess with them until you become an experienced painter. Make sure to read the manual that comes with paint kit.

Shouldve been clearer sorry, hard to describe, when using the paint kit you can set the shadow layer as visible. In every other paint kit I've used you set the shadows as visible before flattening the new paint, I take it you do not do this witht the NGX kit?

Thanks for the advise on the windows...had myself worried for a little while haha

The transparency is on the alpha channel of the dds files. Hope that helps.
