FS2crew will not recognise "set"
Gary1999 replied to Gary1999's topic in FS2CREW: FLIGHT SIM LABS AIRBUS
Thanks, I'll give it a go. -
Hi, Literally only that one word, Windows recognises it perfectly fine, have added it to the windows dictionary umpteen times. Sometimes fs2crew will hear checked and set or "xxxx set" but 99% of the time it wont hear those either. Having as look through the logs, FS2crew is hearing "sent", but windows hears "set". Language pack is English - Australia, which I understand is supported now, and using UK crew region. Anything I can do on my end to fix this? As I'm having to skip through a lot of checklists.

Auto brakes/braking action, ground handling weirdness
Gary1999 replied to Gary1999's topic in PMDG 747 Queen of the Skies II
Hey Mate, Brakes are definitely set through p3d, but I did realize the throttles were set through FSUIPC, however I have not had the braking issue since a computer restart, and the reverser thing does seem related to FSUIPC :) -
Hey folks, just a quick one. Did 2 flights today both had a couple of issues, first issue was entering the runway at ypdn (default p3dv4) where the number 4 engine went beserk and into full reverse with all sorts of overheat warnings and caused a 300t 747 to spin around like a top, must have rotated 20-30 times before slew mode and mashing the f1 key eventually brought it to a stop. Then upon landing at around 255t on sydneys runway 34l I ran off the end of the runway (over 12000ft) with full manual braking and full reverse. Runway was dry but it seemed as if it was just gliding along and not slowing. Went off the end at 140kts after touch down at around 155-160. Same happened on a follow on flight to ymml ran off the end of a 13000ft runway in the same manner. Off the end at 130kts after touch down at 165ish. This time autobrakes set at 3 and full reverse. Anyone had this issue before? Brakes set through normal p3d config. Cheers Andrew Greentree

How am I "moderating"? Is it because I don't follow blindly like a sheep in demanding updates for a product or telling a company to back flip on a policy? As for crapping on a thread...if this was thr first ever topic on something like this I may be more helpful. But given until a couple of days ago I hadn't been on this forum for near 12 months. I come back and see the same topics over again. Perhaps this is why the pmdg staff don't respond. ...because they have already answered the question 12 months ago and cbf repeating themselves 11ty times. If people can't handle someone taking the opposite side of an argument than the interpascals is not the place for you

The point being is that there are lots of people simply guessing. Fact is pmdg is well within their rights to not support p3d at a home entertainment level. It is their choice not yours. No amount of forum whining will change that.

PMDG position in P3D with Boeing, but how about BaE or MD?
Gary1999 replied to Japo32's topic in PMDG General Forum
They don't want to be the successor to fsx...not even remotely. -
Auto brakes.... Ie the brakes apply automatically

And updates on the hour every hour 24/7. Because your sim addons are the same as a porsche. Actually for 20 bucks an hour I will do the updates... Ie 6am - Robert is sleeping 7am - Robert is drinking coffee 7:12am - Robert and Ryan are contemplating whether to spend all day shaking their heads at red herring questions 8am - Robert and the team are hiding from the window lickers camped out the front of the office. They are wondering why those people all have a hard copy of tge Boeing 777 manual. Why are they all shaking their fists?

Turn off the mixture axis in the controls section when flying jets. -
It MUST have a 2D Panel, and be compatible with p3d Version 23.9 rev2

What aircraft are you guys flying in tis day and age, where a VC is unusable? Freeware ports from FS98? Those that thing you dont "pan around" in a real real aircraft are kidding yourselves yeah? Do you only ever look dead ahead driving your car? Uh oh, cant see the CD player controls...better click and drag the whole CD player in front of my face because I have no neck

I use no fsx.cfg tweaks what so ever apart from the obligatory Highmemfix i5-3770k GTX660ti and 8GB ram locked at 30 everywhere dead stable, dead smooth Stop tweaking stuff. just let it do its thing, just because some guy on a forum says "X" is the best tweak ever, doesnt make it so. So guys with stability probs, delete your super modified cfg files, and try running out of the box. you will be suprised, because it took me months to sort the NG out, the fix was leave it as intended by microsoft

Honestly I dont understand how anyone could compare PE/Vatsim with some pre rendered ATC software. I do all my flying on vatsim and used to fly on PE a bit too...but living on the otehr side of the world means the hours dont suit any more. For starters Vatsim is free and 12 months on PE is probably still less than the ATC software. but think of it this way. Ever done a group flight with 12 P51's/spitfires and B17s in the air with real people flying beside you while getting approval from a real person to do formation landings at an international airport in the middle of a huge fly in with over 100 aircraft all with real people behind the controls. What virtual ATC software can give you that? NONE! Edit - to suit the Tubeliner theme here, I just took off fro St Maarten, while I was taxing out there were 3 arrivals, and a departure, all were real people. There is just something nice about knowing that those guys/girls were working their butt off to land there when the weather was just above minimums. All I can say is try it, its very different to atc software (thats a good thing)
