June 15, 201213 yr If I ever decide to get FSX acceleration pack, do I have to uninstall all of my addons (such as the NGX, REX, FSDT airports) and reinstall FSX, or will I be fine re installing acceleration over my current installation? Alfredo Terrero
June 15, 201213 yr I have also wondered this- as I understand it SP2 needs to be uninstalled, as Acceleration replaces it.... but how add-ons that require SP2 are affected by that I'm not sure. Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
June 15, 201213 yr Acceleration automatically determines whether or not your existing FSX installation has SP2, and if it does, it does not install it. So, you should be good to go if you ever decide to upgrade to the expansion pack. However, I strongly suggest doing a complete uninstall and a fresh FSX + Acceleration reinstall and then a hard disk defrag, regardless. I know it is a lot of work, BUT some third-party addons like UTX and others require you to install Acceleration FIRST, or they don't function properly e.g. you get desert textures where oceans should be, etc. This way you can save yourself a lot of headaches that might require you to just start from scratch in the first place...
