[Fraps] recording

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

When im on The flight sim, my FPS is alright at average 25-40 frames. When i record, my FPS drops to 10 or less. Ive tried almost everything. I have fsx on its own hard drive (not ssd) and i have fraps on another hdd. I save my videos and pictures on the hdd with the hdd that fraps is on.

My system specs.

3x hdd- 1 w/windows 7 x64, 1 w/fsx and all addons, 1 w/fraps and a little extra files

Amd 955 @ 4.0 ghz

Sapphire 6870 1gb

12 gb ram corsair

550 watt power supply cooler master

Try DXTORY.

The Fps drop is relatively minor as compared to FRAPS.

I use GameCam myself, there is very little frame loss with it, and file sizes are much smaller. For example I did 2 video today that was an hour long, and they ended up being about 1.4GB, when processed they ended being 640K and 330K. A slight reduction in quality, but not bad. One of the features it lacks though, is the ability to use 2 sound recording sources, so when I d MCE videos I have to use FRAPS. Does DXTory support 2 audio recording devices?

Thanks

Tom
