I have a question; how come when i start recording with fraps the frames drop significantly with 1920x1080x32? They also drop with 720 but not as much. The default resolution(i forgot what it was) has no frame drop with fraps. What is it about 720 and 1080 that make fraps want to eat fps? I also tried bandicam and same thing! can't put my finger around it and i searched for an answer and can't figure it out.

Any one have any proper experince of DXTORY? Anyoen know any good alternatives to Fraps? I've downloaded DXTORY and set it up but it seems very complex and I can't seem to get consistent results out of it. Something tells me that it would kick into line if I bought it, but don't want to if it really isn't any good. I find when runnig FSX it is so smooth, but when Fraps'd it loses frames. I've tried to lock everything at 30fps but it still doesn't look as good as it could (imo) Thanks peeps jake

Not sure if a thread like this already exists, but I thought it might be interesting to see some videos posted here in the forums instead of just in Youtube which highlights interesting aspects of FSX: Post video links of tricks / landings / effects / airports / new add-ons, etc... I find that on Youtube searching does not always bring things up correctly and sometimes the videos are too long, so how about short videos like 2 mins or less that highlight interesting things to do in FSX? Is this a bad idea, if so a Mod can delete it? I'm not much of a video maker, but here are two to get started: A Landing of the 757 Freemium at Orbx's Stewart Airport: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yqYABqs3YRk Before the landing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZFSnL5Bj-M Note: You wouldn't normally land a 757 at an airport like this (especially in bad weather), so that is kind of my point on videos. Something unique and interesting... I'm sure other members have better ones. I say we generally stay away from crash videos... Video Ideas Crosswind landings, problematic takeoffs, interesting things a plugin did, bizarre looking clouds, incredible scenery, cool airport effects, etc...

Hi, I'm just getting into making FSX videos, and I was wondering what the best recording program is (for playback from fsrecorder). I currently use MSI Afterburner, but I get my framerates easily slashed in half, or at the very least, dropped by 5-10 while recording. Since FSX doesn't use the GPU more than around 30%, I was wondering if there were any good (and free) recorders out there that can pretty much run on the GPU using CUDA. Thanks!

Does anybody else have trouble recording with FRAPS? I've had a hard time getting things recorded because sometimes I press the hotkey and it just doesn't record. I've tried several different hotkeys to no avail. Any ideas?Thanks,boeing247

Here's my first high-quality video using FS Recorder, Fraps, and Windows Video. Previously I was posting videos using my phone's recorder off screen, but I finally have a processor capable of capturing with FRAPS and am still learning the ropes of video editing. This was done really as a way to learn what I'm doing. Please enjoy, and watch for more (and better) to come!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BtuNXaeMQAU
