HTAI Float Planes in FSX-Issue

Featured Replies

Greetings all, I am working on FSX AI flightplans for West Coast Air using the HTAI Cessna Caravan I on floats. The AI aircraft floats spark, smoke and the aircraft stays halted once it lands (and just disappears when it's time to taxi). The default aircraft and one other AI aircraft work fine on the afcads I've created but the HTAI one doesn't. Is this a model issue and does anyone have any idea of where I could begin to fix it?

Cheers

Chris

Does it have wheels at all? If not, then it will never work except on the water...

Nope. No wheels, so there shouldn't be a problem. I didn't have this problem in FS9. I've used the same techniques I used in FS9 so this seems to be a FSX specific issue. I've compiled the flightplan using the default FSX DHC 2 with no difference in result. I've mucked around with the afcad files to see if they were the source of the trouble, all with no result. I must admit that I am truly stumped.

1. Rename the aircraft.cfg file to aircraft_old.cfg.

2. Copy over the AIR file and aircraft.cfg file from a similar plane that works OK.

3. Copy the fltsim, contact points, and lights sections from the original cfg file into the copied one, replacing the existing sections.

4. Edit the sim= lines to the copied AIR file name.

Now you should have a Caravan that flies like the other plane.

Hope this helps,
