How to increase effect (redux lights) visibility radius?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

Today I have installed A2A lights on my Virtavia C-17, but there's is a problem. Since the airplane is very big, the camera has to be placed very far from the actual aircraft so it can fit on the screen. But there must be some kind of "effect lod" on the landing lights and it causes the lights to not show properly. When I move camera closer, 3D lights are visible. See attached screenshot to see what I am talking about.

Is it possible to somehow edit .fx file to increase that light visibility radius so I don't have to move camera that close?

Thanks.

Open it in notepad...there should be a LOD config category

Total Distance Flown: 65,141.138 Nautical Miles (In reality-------I don't have THAT much time to waste on FSX).

Well... .fx file consist of billion numbers and I have no idea what to change. There's a "Radius=1" parameter, I tried to change it but without result.

//Problem seems to be happening only at night/dusk/dawn. When I set time to "day", lights looks great even if I move the camera far away. Dunno what that means.

Cheers, George.
