Transferring downloaded Alaska scenery files to laptop

Featured Replies

Hi,

I just installed Alaska on my desktop. I now want to get Alaska on my laptop. I see, at least some, of the downloaded files in my App Data for Flight. Anyone know if any of the new files can just be copied to my laptop? It would be a lot faster.

You could try to copy the entire DLC folder to your laptop. Check the settings in GFWL to see where the DLC folder is.

Hi,

I wish I'd tried that. I decided to just download everything directly. I did notice that after each file is downloaded there's a message that says "Installing" and as the file location seems to remain the same I'm guessing that pointers are updated elsewhere and simply copying the folder wouldn't work. But it seems as though copying would have been worth a try just to find out.
