Stearman Landing Challenge

Featured Replies

Do you mean the one in Alaska ? It's piece of cake, believe me...

Descend along the mountain ridge to the SouthEast (sort of you downwind leg...), remember to correct for the northerly wind blowing around 60 knots, gusting to 90!!!! at that altitude... Down at final approach level it'll get down to 15-18 knots, more or less aligned with the rw, even if with gusts..

Then land, avoiding the big tree near the rw threshold :-)

Got Gold on my 1st attempt :-)

Where I am really ahving a big problem is with the gravel field landing :-( It complains about the rw centerline, but, how can I figure where the rw axis is?????

Ths for the hint... I guess I'll have to find the right middle of that gravel field :-)... and... BTW - Congratulations... Still a few more day before I end the challenges, I guess, and then try the gold on each... Also revisiting some of the silver challenges in Hawaii now using the Carbon Cub.
