May 26, 200422 yr Get your Kiss me quick hats, 99'rs, umbrellas et al and head out to FlightSims 98 Blackpool!Deckchairs optional!Three choruses of 'I do like to be beside the sea side....'Great Fun scenery and a BIG well done.(watch out for the tram)
May 26, 200422 yr I was going to check it out but their website sort of freaked me out :-lol What is it, what does it do, and does it work with the VFR Photographic Scenery and the VFR Terrain? -
May 26, 200422 yr Its just the scenery. The tower, the three piers etc all very well done.I just have the default scenery so no problems with installation. The tram goes along the front.Of course illuminations at night are reproduced!
May 26, 200422 yr Unfortunately it isn't at all synchronised with the VisualFlight photo scenery. boneshttp://fsaviation.net
May 27, 200422 yr It also doesn't work with the Lancashire VFR scenery either. But, nonetheless, it's a huge (literally) improvement on previous versions with plenty of actual buildings along the seafront.
May 27, 200422 yr Author I love this scenery, just as I did the previous versions.I don't think it is unusual that it only matches the default scenery, how many people have either the VFR or Lancashire scenery? However I suggests those who would like it to match these add-on sceneries send an email to flightim98 and ask, politely, if it would be possible to offer the Blackpool scenery to match the add-ons.I have done this and was very surprised just how much time has been invested in the current scenery, it does make you think before you slam a product.Rgds
May 27, 200422 yr >It also doesn't work with the Lancashire VFR scenery either.Oh Dear!I'll have a look into it. I havn't downloaded the Blackpool scenery yet. You might also like to have a look at Ian Broadbent's "fylde" scenery (found on allnodesarebusy.com). It includes Blackpool airport and a basic Warton Aerodrome (but beware - it also includes Blackpool Tower - so you might get the twin towers of Blackpool!)I was updating my Lancashire scenery to fit in with Ian Broadbent's scenery and shall also update it to integrate nicely with my up coming Lake District Scenery (preview shots in link below):http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchAnthony Dyer
May 27, 200422 yr Hey guys, I wasn't critisicing, honest!!I hope you can update your stuff, Anthony, as I think it's a worthy addition to my FS set-up. It might be easier that way, rather than tha Blackpool guys shifting their stuff and having problems with the default scenery!I assume that in de-activating your scenery, I'll have lost Samlesbury? Can I just install the relevant AFCAD file and get it back? I used to work there!DSB Design do a stand alone Warton, though I don't know what it's like.Looking forward to your Lake District work!
May 27, 200422 yr Author Anthony,I am hoping flightsim98 can move the Blackpool scenery to match your caostline, or at least produce a version for your Lancashire scenery and one for the default scenery. If not I can live with either the discrepancy or disable your scenery wehn flying just to Blackpool ;-)If your coastline is accurate I would hate you to compromise that.Rgds
