July 6, 201213 yr I have had a strange error message for quite some time and would appreciate any suggestions for clearing it. On start-up I receive the message: 1.000000000000000 is greater than 1000000000.00000000000000000000000 Clicking the "OK" clears the Error Message but then it repeats itself exactly 37 times after which FSX continues and loads and runs correctly. Other than a sore finger appears to be no harm but I certainly would like to get rid of all the clicks! Any suggestions? Thanks!
July 6, 201213 yr Funny enough, I had a very similar message yesterday. But I my case I was testing some new fx files that I had built, and so had an inkling of what the problem was. The message came up at startup when (I think) FSX was rebuilding its scenery indices and (presumably) doing some validation on new files. In my case it was a typo in one of the files I had just changed. FSX still came up OK. The message then re-appeared later when I started a flight, but it didn't prevent me going flying. It just didn't play the effect that I had added. So I'm guessing you have a duff scenery or effects file or similar somewhere. Best to check what you installed or changed most recently. Unfortuantely the message doesn't give you much of a clue as to where the error is !
July 7, 201213 yr Commercial Member i have seen similar errors on startup with fx files too when investigating DX10 lights. It was where an effect allowed two comma separated values to be specified and I made a mistake specifying their values. Have you installed any files into the effects directory recently? I am not certain that I saw one that defied mathematics though. I am sure that 1 is usually less than 1000000000. My FSX Analysis Blog
