problem with all demos

Featured Replies

Hello, I have problems with all fsx demos that I downloaded, just flught 737-200, captain sim 757, fsdreamteam new york and las vegas.

With Just Flight: when I open it for the first and go to fly now...crash error. I solved it flying first with a default aircraft and then the 737 just flight, but in fps...1-5 fps, imposible to fly.

Captain sim: the aircraft doesnt respond to the joystick or keyboard. the doors are open, reverse thrust, spoilers, etc.

Fsdreamteam: with the demos and a default aircraft it gives me 5-13 fps.

I have no other addons, default fsx sp2 gives me 20-42fps in london heathrow.

I have a amd phenom II x4 975 @4.0Ghz (im going to chage it for a i5-3570k) , a gtx570 EVGA 1.2GB, 16GB RAM 1333Mhz, Win7 ultimate 64 bits.

I dont know if the cause is the processor or it is something wrong with fsx or the demos (if its not the processor im going to change it anyway).

Thanks and sorry for my english :(

Welcome to Avsim, Zunscar.

In your case, I would start with reducing the possible error causes. So perhaps uninstall the things you have installed lately (all the demos) and then add one by one. By this, we can pinpoint the cause much better.

I have some ideas, but you are currently running a mixture of different (demo) things. This makes it hard to help.

Thanks for the welcome :)

I tried it, uninstall al the demos, install only one and run the demo with all the rest default :( same results.

I also do the auto tweacking thing from a web page posted here on avsim.

The auto tweaking thing doesn't work for everyone and is not really needed for fast systems like yours. It does not contain miracles for making fsx run better or faster. Get rid of it. Only tweak you really need is highmemfix=1 under the Graphics section in the fsx.cfg.

For the FS Dreamteam demos, they have special settings to make their products work better. Just click on Menu>Addon>FSDreamteam and look at the options for the fsx.cfg.

Make sure your fsx settings are not set too high. Take a look at the guide from one of the FSX experts, NickN, entitled Setting Up FSX and Tuning It - http://www.simforums.com/Forums/topic29041.html.

Not sure why the joystick and keyboard do not work for the CS737. You can check your configuration by going into Settings then Controllers. If it still doesn't work then you'll have to contact Captain Sim. If it works for your default aircraft it should work great for Captain Sim products. Captain Sim installations do absolutely nothing to change your keyboard or joystick settings. Another option is to unplug your joystick then reattach it. Perhaps it's no longer being seen by Windows. Do the same with your keyboard. I do not know exactly why you are trying out the CS 737 demo. It only provides you with the default VC, 2d panel, default sounds, and the only real thing you're getting is the exterior. But it's free so why not! I think you would get a better feel of the CS product by visiting the Unofficial Captain Sim Forum here on AVSIM then Google Captain Sim 737 and click on one of the many You Tube videos owners have posted.

Now the FS Dreamteam stuff does use FPS above the default (especially KJFK) but it usually is pretty fluid and solid when running it in FSX especially if you don't have your FSX settings set too high. Having your scenery settings maxed will not improve the view and will only cause stuttering, blurriness, and possibly crashes. AI settings must never be set to max either as you don't fly the world but just a specific area. When you load FSX, every AI flightplan and every AI installed will be loaded and placed all around the world in FSX. If you have it maxed, you're putting every flightplan and AI into action. Lower it to no more than 40%. Cars and other traffic should be no higher than 10%. I say all of this because you state your default aircraft in London are giving you 20-42 fps and not representative of a system running at 4.2GHz. Your fps are pretty low for default scenery/aircraft. I get over 100 fps with default stuff. Your 32" LED may be bringing you down too in frames as it's not really a monitor and higher graphic settings will put a lot of strain on your system.

Hope this helps some.

Best regards,

Jim
