Reinstall From Zip Files - do I need reactivation process?

Featured Replies

I want to reinstall P3D from the 3 zip files I have on my PC. Does this require the reactivation process?? I am guessing that since it is the same PC, etc. I may not have to be down for 24 hours.

Since I was anxious to continue trying to find why strong waves appeared on ponds, rivers, and small lakes I just went ahead and uninstalled P3D and hoped I would not suffer a 24 hour delay waiting for activation. Fortunately, there was no need for reactivation after an uninstall of P3D. The wierd waves on small ponds did continue so that eliminated REX Essentials as the culprit and left P3D itself.

I would assume that few care about this since at high altitudes and/or speed it is not noticable. The Clarity and Refelction sliders have no effect except to include some elements and make them a bit more defined. But, I am a lo & slower virtual pretend flier so I see the odd waves on the rivers and ponds.

I think that Prepar3D and FSX use the same textures for inland water as oceans. There's no getting around it as far as I know. I remember reading a post where one of the REX developers said that.

Yes, Lockheed Martin acknowledges this but have no immediate plans for change. Looking at the same area in FSX it is ok with 1X water. Getting into 2X and the waves start on the ponds and rivers. There is probably a way to turn this off completely somewhere in the options or textures.
