June 5, 200421 yr When FS2002 is started I get error message:"Third party software not compatable. File traffic.dll""Do you want to load software?"--No--Screen blanks & back to desktop.I followed MS help & added[old modules]traffic.dll=o to 2002.cfg file, same error appears.I have removed all add on aircraft, scenery, fstraffic,AFCAD,FSUPIC,Wideview, uninstalled FS& reinstalled so I only have original FS2002.Same error.I searched for traffic.dll & found it in two locations. One in FS2002/Modules & the other in Windows/System 32.When I remove traffic.dll from modules folder the error messages disappears, but FS blanks back to desktop.I loaded FS2002 onto another computer to make sure CD were ok.Worked perfect. The last thing I was doing before this happened was altering an airport in AFCAD which failed to show airport.Which may suggest FSUPIC failed.FSUPIC is unregistered.about two years old.Any Ideas ?:)
June 6, 200421 yr You need to creat a heading {OLDMODULES}, using squared brackets, in the 2002.cfg and put *.dll=1 or =0 under the new heading. It's best to do this as the first entry in 2002.cfg.David
June 6, 200421 yr Thanks David for reply.I tried this still the same.I get the feeling that this file is not the problem, because even without it fs still does not start.
June 6, 200421 yr >I get the feeling that this file is not the problem, because>even without it fs still does not start.FS needs this file in order to start.
June 6, 200421 yr Any chance you've got an FS2004 addon installed in FS2002? [email protected] | 32gb RAM | EVGA GTX1080 8gb | Mostly P3Dv5 (also IL2:BoX, DCS, XP11)
June 6, 200421 yr http://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...sg_id=78&page=2Did you recently update to WinXP Service Pack 1 (SP1). If so, this problem affects some computers and not others. Make a copy of your FS2002Modules traffic.dll file and place the copy in your FS2002 folder. The problem should be corrected.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
