Hi,

 

This is a first. Yesterday while flying at cruize altitude FL390, the aircraft started to roll from left to right appreciably and almost banked at 50 deg. As a result

 

1) I started getting "Bank Angle: warnings

2) LNAV switched off many times as I tried to manually stabilize the path.

3) Autopilot switched off CMD-A. I could never get it back on.

 

There were no warning signs other than the bank angle.

 

Is this something to do with winds at high altitude? Are there any simple resolutions?

And you can try to find more, most of time weather engine or FSUIPC cause this problem.

 

1) It's normal.

2) I think you have switched to CWS-R and this normal when you override LNAV.

3) Check failures page.
