Hi MindYerBeak!

Sorry to hear you're still having issues with your sytem. I know you had a lot of crashes using ProATC. The information below may sound basic to you but want to make sure as I do not know your expertise with computers.

Exception code 0xc0000005 indicates you had a memory access violation. Probably happened while calling the window.dll which was having an issue communicating with FSX. The window.dll is used by FSX to take advantage of the capabilities of DirectX9. When using DirectX9, FSX calls on the window.dll module's functions to automatically minimize, maximize or restore the FSX window. For instance, the function 'WindowInit' is called to whether the window is currently minimized or maximized. The 'WindowFree' function can set the focus on the window and check whether the window has current focus. The dll has many more functions. I would first scan your system for corrupted files: Open the Command Prompt (look in Menu under Accessories); type sfc /scannow. The System File Checker will verify the integrity of every protected operating system file on your computer and fix the file if an error is found. Restart computer if an error was found and files were repaired.

Make sure you run Windows Update to make sure Windows has the latest updates.

Run the DirectX Diagnostic Tool - Click on the Start button and click on the Run command (also located under Accessories). Type dxdiag and then hit the enter key. Check each page and make sure there are no errors. If you have Beta video drivers installed, install the latest WHQL drivers.

Most likely this window.dll crash is a one-time event. I have never seen this crash before and, according to Google, you are the first one. Since you had the memory exception violation I would make sure your virtual memory (page file) is set to 'System Managed Size'. This seems to be working the best for FSX since FSX is an old program.

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jim

proatc ? Nice try. Anyway.I remembered I had beta and modded drivers installed. Re-installing proper ones (from nvidia.com) fixed the issue. My system is stable unless I fool around with /install beta drivers/ beta software and junk in general. After I removed proatc problems stopped till i decided i wanted to try the newest modded drivers (if it ain't broke fix it till it is kind of thing) and fsx started "complaining" again. On top of that I installed the FS9 version of the qwsim avro and that sure did not help.

I'm not the first one.You prob seen my post on top of the google list.Dig a bit deeper and you'll find more window.dll related problems.

Thanks for taking the time anyway.
