June 13, 200421 yr I realize that FS has many limitations as far as night and water textures go, but I can't seem to find a set that I can live with. I know this topic has been discussed endlessly, but after a thorough search of the forums I think we could all benefit from a complete list. On another note, I have come to realize that mesh and fscene are necessities, but what about landclass?Long live the Super king!-Andre
June 13, 200421 yr I just recently downloaded the new;FS2Night 2 (Night Environment Upgrade) - FS2004 Textures by Chris ArringtonThe work done on this is excellent, the roads especially. However, for my taste the general city lighting is far to dim. I flew into the LA basin and could just barely make out the city area on a clear night when just at 5000 ft and about 25 miles out from LAX.I may reload the version 1 series. I will miss the smaller blob size and general overall quality sharpness, but I have to see the city lights. If you fly in remote areas or areas not densely populated you will love these. CPU: Core i5-6600K 4 core (3.5GHz) - overclock to 4.3 | RAM: (1066 MHz) 16GB MOBO: ASUS Z170 Pro | GeForce GTX 1070 8GB | MONITOR: 2560 X 1440 2K
June 13, 200421 yr For night lights you have 3 sets available: two from Chris Arrington and one from Chris Willis. All available in Avsim library and can be found in 2 minutes doing the author name search. Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
June 13, 200421 yr Hi Andre,For a really great water combination by Mike Cruachan look here...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&mesg_id=163638I don't think you can go wrong with this water. :) P.S. He didn't make the water addons, which he clearly states, he just came up with a great combo."Long live the Super king!"I agree! It's gotta be ranked as being among one of the greatest GA twins available for Flight Simulator now. Cheers,Jim
June 14, 200421 yr Thanks for your replies everyone. I'm gonna go with Mike Cruachan's combo for water for now. As far as night textures go, I agree that they look either blobbish or dim. Judging from the screenshots of USA roads, I think the solution may be near-for the US at least. Regards, Andre
June 15, 200421 yr I definately don't think the new version of fsnight looks too dim at all! Maybe it is different because I have the freeware fsgenesis landclass installed which changes the locations of buildings, roads, etc.Anyway I went with the water tweak linked in here, fsnight version 2, and fsgenesis freeware landclass
