I am having a problem with fx_SmokeStack2.fx.

 

I can place it anywhere but it won't display in a flight unless I go to "World->Scenery Library" and uncheck or check any existing area (apart from the area containing the effect placement). On return to the flight, the smoke is displayed.

 

I am using FSX Acceleration on two machines, one running XP Pro and the other W7 64bit. Both systems exhibit the same effect.

 

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Small update.

 

If I create a flight at the airport where the effect is placed, I can't see the smoke.

 

If I then go to another airport and back to the original, the smoke is visible.

It's a random effect, George. Sometimes it's on, sometimes not. I suppose you can use the Effects tool to change or replace it, if you want.
