June 15, 200421 yr Not sure if this is a silly question......I like to do fairly long flights (CYVR-VHHH)and was wondering a couple of things; Are there any add-ons that will act as co-pilot changing radio frequencies etc. so I don't have to sit at the computer for 13 hours in order to maintain IFR flight??? I have tried to re-instate IFR flight part way through a flight and it's about 50/50 at this point. Sometimes works, but other times ATC tells me to turn and return to origin (i.e. doesn't recognize that I've re-instated the flight plan by re-loading it and setting up GPS to be on correct waypoint). Any help here? Thanks folks!Robb
June 15, 200421 yr There might be, but one way around the ATC is once you get up to cruise altitude, when the ATC tells you to change to another center frequency, acknowledge it, but do not contact the next center. The ATC will "forget" about you and not cancel your IFR. Then you can re-establish contact when you get closer to your destination and it will pick up where it left off. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
June 15, 200421 yr Radar Contact has a co-pilot option that will not only take care of the radios, but will also comply with ATC instructions within certain limits.
