August 14, 201213 yr Howdy folks, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I guess here is as good as anywhere. I currently have a nice set up for FS. I use FS Flightkeeper to take snapshots, logbook, and flight critique. I use Fraps to take videos of takeoff's, landings and near misses. I also use FS Map as a moving map on my iPad. So a few years ago I built a web server to share and publish my flights. The only problem is I'm in IT, and manage servers on a daily basis and really didn't want to manage another system. So the vanity project took a back seat for a couple years. The other night I decided to try Facebook as a means to publish flights. Since Facebook lets you make pages I thougt I'd give it a try. So I published a few videos, a bunch of photos, and a report from FS Flight Keeper showing my flight. For me I think this has potential. I know %99.999 of other people will be like "What the heck is this crap?". But for the privliged few (you and me) it has it's place. I'm also wondering if anyone else does anything like this? Or am I the only crazy person around? So here is my first test: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ksea-Koth-102410/109100262570579 To view the flight data you'll have to clicke the "Static XFBML" icon. That's the only app that I could find that would let me post HTML. *NOTE* due to some problem (imagine that; a problem on Facebook) if you click on that link and your using HTTPS you might get an error. I'm really curios and wonder if anyone else publishes thier hobby. I look forward to your feedback. -Matt
August 17, 201213 yr I think any flight in an airplane is too short to really take any advantage of the Timeline feature in facebook, although it could be used to chronicle the various flights of a single aircraft over time. Personally I just use an image gallery on flickr with image descriptions to document a flight supplemented by journal entries to make notes on my experiences/mistakes for reference on future flights Drew Sikora Staff Blog Founder/Designer, MSE Airports
