August 21, 201213 yr Any clue how to easily go about fixing this? I see tons of google hits on a similar issue of files being corrupt but there is no way I'm repairing my FSX install from CD. Its bound to mess up 20 other addons I have at the same time.
August 21, 201213 yr I don't know how well this would work, but you could try a clean install of FSX in a new directory--then delete all DEFAULT FSX effects and merge the folder from the new install with the old one. I would try this with all possible folders that could cause this--shaders, textures, etc. Again, no clue how/ if this would work, but you could always try it. Total Distance Flown: 65,141.138 Nautical Miles (In reality-------I don't have THAT much time to waste on FSX).
August 21, 201213 yr Author Figured it out. I downloaded and installed the FSX demo on another hard drive then copied over many of the texture/effects files that deal or seem to deal with lighting based on the many Google search results. Then I just uninstalled the demo.
