June 19, 200421 yr Dear Friends,I usually fly high altitude stuff ie 737 etc...Does anyone know a way, or maybe deleting a file, to get rid of the guy who yells out the alitude as I land? After a while this guy does wear a little thin on my nerves! Many Thanks
June 19, 200421 yr 2 thoughts...First, you could delete the wav files from the sound folder. You'll see them with altitudes as part of their names.Or, if it the volume that is grating to you, change it. You can use MS Sound Recorder (Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment). Open the file from FS9 sound folder, then select "Lower Volume" from the Effects menu repeatedly until you get what you're happy with.OK, a third thought: you could change the cfg file.Hope this helps.Alex M.
June 19, 200421 yr If you had any idea what we long-time sim fans went through waiting to get GPWS callouts.. :-lol BobK
June 20, 200421 yr Many Thanks for you assistance....I hunted around for those files you mentioned....no luck...Any other suggestions? Many Thanks
June 20, 200421 yr Bob....I do appreciate your comments....would know of any way to turn this little guy off or at least lower the volume on him? Thanks
June 21, 200421 yr I say deal with it...just as the real 737 pilots do. It's a great aid because you don't have to check the radar altitude. Really, you come to appreciate it.
June 22, 200421 yr I agree with Erik. I admit that a little while ago I boxed off "terrain, terrain"....that was my pet hate and "pull up..pull up" going off at the same time but as Erik points out, it's the real thing.
June 23, 200421 yr Many Thanks for yur comments....appreciate them...Real or not, this little guy seems much louder than anything else in my cockpit!....Would you happen to knok a way of turn the volume down a bit on him?Manys Thanks
June 23, 200421 yr In your FS Options>sound menu there should be several sliders one of which should allow you to turn down cockpit sounds to a more acceptable level relative to all the other noise. The altitude clallouuts are triggered by a panel gauge and should therefore be controlled by the panel sounds. Misha
