Hi lately have been doing some work around with this ENB Series MOD.I am new to it so i have been getting issues that i couldn't find the solution no where else . I know most simmers experience crashes with this plugin but in my case i don't receive crashes . What i get is this black screen issue but fsx doesn't crash an it seem like all engines are running. This is what i try an i have not solve this issue .

 

 

What i try so far :

 

1. When using fspassengerx i try to turn off the ENB setting by pressing shift + F12 but nothing seems to happen . The same issue again after taking a long 2 hour flight when i was about to end the flight black screen pops up even dow i have turn off ENB . Fsx would just normally have this black screen an engines running in the background.

 

2. I saw on a post that stated to remove the "uiautomationcore.dll" from my main fsx folder. But that didn't seem to work either . Black screen issues still happen .

 

3 I try using other ENB setting for example Tim's BlueShpere as someone suggested. But that only made my screen to bright on sunny days. I still couldn't figure out the problem.

 

4 . I have also try the Vysync Fix by placing" ForceFullScreenVSync=1" in the [GRAPHICS] area in you Fsx.CFG .But this seem to fix the menu crashes but not black screen issues .

 

Solution To My ENB Black Screen Issue ( Don't know if this may work for some that are having this black screen issue or crashes but your welcome to try )

 

1 What i did first was disable UAC . I know this may be old news about the UAC issue but i kindly forgot after i installed FSX for the first time in window 7. But anyways for those that might not know how to do this here is a video

 

2. I found this post that tells a little bit more about the ENB that i didn't know . For example i have read many post about the ENB series plugin an many simmers talk about using "shift + F12" for turning on an off the enb series plugin. But what i didn't know they are more shortcuts keys that activate different setting in ENB Series plugin. For example "Shift + F9" turns bloom off an on an i don't mean fsx bloom but the actual ENB bloom setting . 3 So i went ahead an try the"blueSphere" from Tim's as soon as fsx started i press Shift + F9 at fsx start "Free Flight "menu . I notice the difference the bright sky was gone an at the same time ENB Series was on. Make sure to press Shift + F12 first to enable ENB so you can notice the difference when you press "Shift + F9" that activates Bloom. I really thought Shift + F9 would activate bloom in fsx but did not . It actually activate the ENB Bloom Setting .

 

4 I fly for about 1:30 minutes i ended my flight in Fspassengerx an no problem with the ENB plugin . It seems fix to me no black screen issue an the bight issue.

 

 

What i could never figure out is why i didn't have this problem in window vista. I never receive any crashes so i don't know if this may help others who receive crashes . But as far as the black screen issue goes it is fix to me . I really don't know what fix it for sure . But doing those steps i describe was how i got the black screen issue solved.

 

Hope this helps to anyone . An if not am willing to keep on trying with you . Am trying to learn more about this ENB series plugin. It gives an outstanding look to fsx but it can also give an outstanding crash to fsx also. Specially when you are in long flight an you are switching views an out of no where fsx crashes. It never happen to me with ENB but i guest the black screen issue is as much as a crash even worst because normally crashes gives out error code or hints , but black screen doesn't give out nothing .

I never get black screen with the ngx only with Airbux X a320. Also press Shift + F10: turn occlusion on or off, off by default (don't use this, very heavy on fps, marginal benefit in 3D cockpit if u look closely at edges) try this for test only. Let see what happens if your fps drops inside the ngx press Shift + F10 again.

Don't know if this might help with the black screen issue on your sim but here it goes . Do you have Shader 3.0 MOD If you do try to remove it an run fsx with ENB On in your NGX . I have uninstall it an am currently flying for hours with out no black screen . I forgot to mention this as probable cause for my issue with Black screen while using ENB . Try it an let me know if it helps .
