September 15, 201213 yr OK, been working through Tutorial 1 step by step, and I got to the point where the engines were running and I was ready for taxi. However, when I applied thrust, nothing happened. The thrust levers come up and down ok with my throttles, but there is no power being applied to the aircraft (the engines are confirmed running at idle) and I got an ABS DISARM Caution Light come on as soon as I applied thrust. When I say there is no power being applied, the engine gauges do not move from the idle settings as I apply or take away thrust. So there is something I don't have set correctly. Looking at the screenies of the main and OH panels, does anyone know what I forgot to set, or set incorrectly? I'm pretty sure that Caution lamp is telling me what the issue is, but I haven't figured out what it refers to at this point. Just to be sure it wasn't my controls, I loaded up the cargo model and everything worked perfectly. So it's something I've done or not done in the pre-flight that is messing me up. Thanks very much for the help
September 16, 201213 yr When you advance the throttles, what is advancing? Just the engines without the gauges or nothing at all? Can you taxi?
September 16, 201213 yr Ehh, there is some deeper problem here. As you can see the engines are running but the engine oil temperature is way below limit. My guess is that you loaded a complex aircraft before the MD11. You need to have the trike ultralight loaded before you can take the MD11. You can also see that the bleeds are off. That means that the automation registers the engines as off. Since they clearly are on there is something unusual going on. HTH, Manfred Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.

HTH, Manfred Glenn said he then loaded the cargo version and there was no engine problem so it could simply have been a bad load. I've had unresponsive engines on the NGX a couple of times and a simple restart of FSX fixed that. With a complex add on there's a lot to go wrong in the initialisation process and with the MD-11 it's important not to touch any controls until the initialisation countown is finished. I agree with your tip to ensure that a default FSX aircraft is saved as the default flight, though it doesn't have to be the trike. It can be any FSX default aircraft, though I'd recommend a piston engined one to be absolutely sure the FSX engine model initialises properly. I use the C172.
September 16, 201213 yr Thanks guys. Yeah, it was all ok until I started to taxi. BUT, after having a look through the manual, I suspect I locked my throttles out by clicking on the Autoflight button while at the gate as per Tutorial 1. It acted exactly like that. I have since done a flight with no problems at all. I now leave the Autoflight button until on the runway or just airborne and it seems to work fine, as per Tutorial #2. FYI yeah, agreed on starting with the default aircraft. I use the 172 and that seems to work well for me. Thanks again folks. Appreciate the help very much  PS - hope to polish this off and upload it at some point:

I always use the trike so thats why i said trike I suspect I locked my throttles out by clicking on the Autoflight button while at the gate as per Tutorial 1. It acted exactly like that. FYI yeah, I can say that the Autoflight button isn't the reason for the lockup. Pressing that button on ground is just like flipping the auto thrust button on a Boeing. I can guarantee that it was a loading error since your oil temperature was wrong. It should immediately go up... Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
September 16, 201213 yr Ahh yeah, I see what you're saying. Well, no matter. It's probably a one-time deal. Thanks Manfred, appreciate the input
