October 3, 201213 yr Hi all, With all the aliases correctly set by the Installer and Alan Constable's AI Traffic Sounds installed in the correct folder I'm not getting the new AI sounds. I have fsx installed to C:\FSX and use Win 7 64 with AUC set to OFF (i.e. allow everything). Anyone using Alan's AI Traffic sounds successfully in UT2 with a c:\FSX installation (i.e. non-default)? Any feedback appreciated. Gareth Wilkinson LEAL Costa Blanca, SPAIN
October 4, 201213 yr Author No-one using these excellent AI Traffic Sounds in a 'non default FSX install path' environment? Alan Constable and I are trying to discover whether by not installing in Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\ it confuses the aliases. Seems unlikely but we have exhausted most other possibilities. As mentioned my fltsim resides in C:\FSX. I'm sure very few of you use the default install? PMDG advise against it and they are in good company. I think ORBX too amongst others. Perhaps someone will spot this post and help us out. Thanks for watching. October 4, 201213 yr Author Cheers Trevor, Could I ask: What's your path to fsx.exe? Are you using 3rd part AI traffic such as Ultimate Traffic 2? If so, did you install the aliases using Alan Constable's automatic installers? Did you have to manually edit the aliases in any way? If you're using Win 7 is yours 64 bit? Do you have User Account Control turned OFF? Sorry, that's a few questions but it might help me solve my problem. Many thanks in advance, Gareth Wilkinson LEAL Costa Blanca, SPAIN
October 4, 201213 yr D:/FSX UT2 Originally yes (way way back) If remember correctly, just the start up sounds were manually placed Win 7 64 bit Always have disabled UAC Have mostly used copy and paste when rebuilding with new builds ie: new machine upgrades etc. Trevor Golding
October 5, 201213 yr Author Trevor, your kind input was appreciated. As it is, the problem's now solved. In case you might be interested it turned out not to be about paths or aliases, but a wrong switch in the fsx.cfg [sOUND] section. SOUND_LOD= had somehow been turned off. Needs to be =1. We learn as we go, right? All the best. Gareth Wilkinson LEAL Costa Blanca, SPAIN
