October 7, 201213 yr Hi everyone, I just upgraded my thermal paste on my CPU due to higher than average temps. - I was using some really cheap latex based Cooler Master paste. Today I just upgraded to IC Diamond paste (as per SpiritFlyer's recommendation). My temps have dropped by 6-8Celcius on load! Temps are now in the high 50s under max stress in P95. Thanks Stephen!
October 7, 201213 yr I too am using some cheap coolermaster goop that came with my cooling solution...your post has made me think about running to the store and grabbing some higher quality stuff. I didn't realize it would make that much difference...good find! Patrick Houghton
October 9, 201213 yr I've never settled for the goop that comes with a cooler, especially nothing pre-applied. Proper cleaning of the areas involved with arctic cleaner+coffee filter and arctic silver 5 applied after is the treatment any build I've been involved in the last 5 years have got. After that a burn in of the paste for a week or so with a lot of heat-cool cycles. Only after that the overclocking has begun=)
