October 17, 201213 yr Hi guys, This problem confused me all the time....I found the terrain of the default scenery area looks terrible when I cruising at FL330. The town area just repeat and repeat, made my FS terrain just like a patterned carpet. Not only in the daytime but also looks terrible in the nightime flight. How can I solve this kind of problem? Thank you.
October 17, 201213 yr You will even find payware offering a somehow repeating pattern when it comes to addons enhancing large areas. Most obvious when flying very high. The daylight ops may benefit from some nice photo scenery, while the night then is pretty dark as most of those things don't come with a night texture set. But for the city definitions, UTX does a pretty good job and also offers a set of extra night lights. Maybe it's worth a look and test. They sell it at Flight1 which means that it comes with a 30 day money back policy.
October 17, 201213 yr Do you fly over default scenery or do you have addons such as Ulimate Terrain and scenery tech? Both these addons feature Landclass updates which could help reduce the effect you describe. UTX: http://www.sceneryso....com/index.html Scenery Tech: http://www.scenerytech.com/ Theres then ORBX whcih covers Austrailia, New Zealand, and parts of NA. http://fullterrain.com/ Another Option which is what I use is to get some photoscenery, which is what I have for almost all of the US and it looks great. I use FSEarthTiles to download them whcih requires a LOT of HD space but is free. Theres also Sim-Savvy which you get check out here http://www.sim-savvy.com/ It has the entire continental U.S.A in high resolution (50 cm) but it costs 300$ and includes an external HD that they ship to you. Theres also freeware for some of the western states from http://www.blueskyscenery.com/ Alex Bart
October 17, 201213 yr Author Great!! Yeah, I have purchased FTX scenery for NZ, it's so cool. For the UTX and Scenery Tech, I will definitely check those addons out. Thank you very much for your help. Cheers.
