July 9, 200421 yr hi guys, is there anyway to fly the mooney without having to constantly adjust for the left and or right roll without dumbing down the realism settings? or is this just something mooney pilots have to live with. william
July 9, 200421 yr You should try a Citabria! All aircraft are going to be affected by those factors to some degree.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
July 9, 200421 yr Make sure that you are switching the fuel tnaks back and forth to keep the fuel load balanced. It does not have switch position to feed from both tanks and if you use from one tank only, then this can cause the Mooney to roll to one side. R-
July 9, 200421 yr thanks guys. yea i checked the tanks and both are equal but the roll starts about as soon as i level off. i'll look into it some more though. william
July 10, 200421 yr Don't forget that some of the realism settings can be set in the aircraft.cfg file - this allows you to set up each aircraft individually and leave the main FS settings alone.I don't know all the adjustable values but have a look at the default J3 Cub aircraft.cfg file as it has the following additions in it:p_factor_on_yaw = 0.3torque_on_roll = 0.3gyro_precession_on_yaw = 0.3gyro_precession_on_pitch = 0.3It's probably worth looking through the aircraft SDK for the full list of options.boneshttp://fsaviation.net
July 10, 200421 yr Have a look at this thread: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...99277&mode=fullThere's an explanation of the problem and a suggested work-around.
July 10, 200421 yr thanks everyone for your help. i found out what the problem was. the fuel weight was balanced but the rest wasn't. anyway i was testing it in the kingair because it rolled in that aircraft too. i had deleted all the passangers and whatever so that the pilot was the only one left. that seems to put more weight on the left side of the aircraft thus the left roll. if i keep the co pilot with the same weight then the roll is gone. i'm assuming it will work in the mooney also. thanks again. william
July 10, 200421 yr I know you meant this, but just to clarify to avoid confusion:Applies to all propeller aircraft.
