The last few days, MCE is throwing up a warning each time I select a new aircraft or flight with a new aircraft. The aircraft will load, MCE will starting checking for changes with the plane...then the warning:

 

Failed to locate Voxkey commands profile!

Custom commands will be ignored for this session.

 

will pop up in a window on top of FSX. After clicking "OK", another warning:

 

Failed to append custom commands to grammar

 

 

will appear in a window. After that FSX and MCE will run normally.

 

What have I done wrong? Is there a setting to disable Voxkey?

You probably just screwed your Voxkey profiles.

 

To recover from that, there is no need to re-install, simply proceed as follows.

 

Go to \My Documents\ folder and delete the “Voxkey” folder.

 

Run the application wizard in order to re-create a fresh and healthy folder.

 

Click Start->All Programs->Multi Crew Experience->Tools->Run app wizard.

 

Go through the wizard quickly, as there is no need for speech training this time around.

 

You could otherwise disable Voxkey by starting the tool, and de-selecting option “Enable this profile”.

 

If for some reason you can’t do that, open mce.ini

 

C:\Users\your_user_name\AppData\Roaming\Multi Crew Experience\mce.ini

 

Change “UseMacros=1” to “UseMacros=0”

 

Save the file.

 

That will get rid of the Voxkey functionality
