October 21, 201213 yr Author fsx.cfg goes in: users/appdata/roaming/microsoft games/fsx NOT your main game folder. I know you've asked about hardware and got shunted in here, but I think that's a shame because your actual concern is about fsx performance not about hardware, which you seem to understand as well as most around here. Best wishes. FSX performance is directly died to Hardware performance.. I got the config working after I ran the tool on chrome, apparently firefox didn't like it, and was making me download my default config as the modified config. The only thing that keeps evading me is the Fiber Frame line, do you know where I could add it? Is your mobo not am2+ or am3? Socket because a am3 processor will work on a am2+ mobo I told you in the first post that FM1 and AM sockets are different and my CPU is FM1

October 21, 201213 yr Commercial Member [Main] FIBER_FRAME_TIME_FRACTION=0.20 //<< 0.33 is default It goes under your [Main] section. I used 0.20 in OrbX land, and 0.10 everywhere else. [GRAPHICS] HIGHMEMFIX=1 ForceFullScreenVSync=1 Also absolute musts. [bufferPools] UsePools=1 RejectThreshold=524288 PoolSize=100000000 This is what I run for bufferpools, after much, much testing. Seriously, I have 30 lines of values with // in front to disable them, and would do sets of 3 tests per combination of settings, charting my average fps as well as watching for stutters. [sCENERY] SmallPartRejectRadius=3 //<< Will not show autogen this size in pixels or smaller; use 1, 2 or 3 This helps me immensely. The trade off is slightly more visible popups as autogen gets close, but in dense scenery, it's well worth the FPS increase I get. There's a few other tweaks I run, but the usefulness of them is measured more in 1 or 2 FPS on average. These settings allow me to run with almost all scenery sliders to the full left except autogen, and that's just one notch back. Also, I usually limit my frames internally to some number compatible with where I'm flying - 40 in the bush, 30 or 40 in larger urban areas. I also get almost no stutters anymore.
