October 22, 201213 yr Hey Everyone, Im having a problem with Aplhasercher It seems as if it just stop working, Ive been using DXTFixer that apperently runs great then i decided to switch to Alphasercher i tries 1&2 and this is what i get, Any advice? Why have you installed FS9 in Program Files(x86) folder ? It is a very known fact that we must install any FS program in a free folder in C:\ or better on another disk (and partition). Program Files (x86) folder is secured by W7 and any attempt to modify files in this folder is denied. Anyway, you can try to modify security settings of your H:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft games\Flight simulator 9 folder and authorize your user account to control, modify, read, write ...etc this folder content, but the best way to solve your problem is to reinstall correctly FS9 in "any non-system disk":\Flight Simulator 9\ folder. Hope this helps Pierre Pierre LFBE
October 22, 201213 yr I've installed everything in that folder and works great. Not sure why people say that. Which system ? WXP or W7 ? Pierre Pierre LFBE
October 22, 201213 yr W7 sorry. Don't be sorry ^_^ You are lucky (to have no problems with your installation) Happy Flyings Pierre Pierre LFBE
October 22, 201213 yr Author Lol My OS IS XP64Bit but its a Dual Boot OS PC i also have windows 7 64bit, My fs2004 directory is on a separate external drive as well. ive tested over and over the only program giving me this issue is the alphasercher apparently the DXTFIXER is working just fine So i beleive if it where to be an issue as to wich directoy fs2004 is currently on then why is DXTFIXER Working flawlessly, To my knolege Alphasercher (The one im having problems with) only searches for missing alpha channels Dxtfixer actually fixes them, so i doubt its a windows 7 security issue.
