  1. To correctly start "cold and dark" B777 from Wilco, you MUST load B777 from a flight with Cessna completely stopped. Battery off, Alternator off, all switches off etc... Save this flight with Cessna, then load your B777 , then follow the right procedure to start B777 (as explained in the manual. Hope this helps Pierre
Hope this helps Pierre
  3. Hi Mike ! In fact, airport wrong elevation is coded in FSX or P3D airport .bgl(s) , but if you have FS Global Ultimate, you have a Pilot's tool to correct this wrong elevation (it's named ASM) . A good mesh reflects the Real World elevation, FSX or P3D airports have (almost every time ) a wrong elevation and they are flat (in real world, airports are not flat, slope runways are very frequent). For the "skirting" and roads problem, it would be possible to modify the alpha channel of road skirting .bmp files and so, to have "transparent" encasements. The same adjustement could possibly erase all roads or specific small roads. This adjustment of alpha channel could be possible only if .bmp files are DXT3. Just my two cents Pierre
  4. The original version is at : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=JhoAfgYhhs0 with explanation of speed discrepancy between Asiana 214 and its blue replica following a correct flight path. Asiana was around 110 knots and the correct flight path speed would be 137 knots. Pierre
  5. Wideview is an external module. It requires one license for the master computer, client computer doesn't requires license of Wideview. But P3D as FSX requires one license per computer. So... if you have a 3 computers setting with P3D and Wideview, you need 3 P3D licenses and 1 Wideview license. If you have a 3 computers setting with P3D and "multi-channel" integrated setting, you need also 3 P3D licenses. Hope this helps. Pierre
  6. Hello Dave, Why don't you invert your proposal : Server PC running FSX panels (with a minimum viewing display 100x100 pixels) with Wideview Client PC (the most powerful machine) running FSX as Wideview client with TripleHead 2Go -> three monitors. Just my 2 cents Pierre
  8. 1) Don't use the Saitek SST Software. 2) Don't use P3D controller settings (uncheck) 3) Install FSUIPC (registered version) 4) Set axis, buttons, sensitivity and null zone through FSUIPC Hope this helps Pierre
  9. YMMV = Your Mileage May Vary Pierre
  10. What is X-Plan ? If you are referring to X-Plane, P3D and X-Plane are two simulators completely different But it's another story (or war, if you prefer !) Pierre
  11. Hi Tommy Have you tried to install FSX on another disk and not in "Program Files" ? If you have only one harddisk, try C:\FSX\ folder in installation requester. Another thing is that, apparently, you have upgraded from XP, but XP 32 or 64 bits ? If it's from XP 32, you have a W8 32 bits version, which is far from good for FSX (FSX is, for a long time, working better on 64 bits system). Hope this helps Pierre
  12. It's unfair... :-) As I said " FS9 runs perfectly on W8 Pro 64, in "windowed mode without any compatibilty mode" , in fact it runs better than on W7 Pro 64, faster and smoothier. IE Wilco Airbus (no Evolution) and Wilco 777 don't give ntdll.dll errors when you shutdown FS9. As in W7, weather radars from RX (in the same Wilco Evolution series) crash immediately FS9, but all my old planes works wonderfully. And multi-windows are accepted without temporary slow-downs (apparently, memory gestion is better in W8) But, as usual, YMMV :-) Pierre
  13. Hi Garciamk4 (still no real name in your post :-) Have you disengaged autothrottle before landing ? A serious reading of the manual of Wilco and practicing of tutorials would be necessary ! First you can't slow down your Airbus (by the way, TOD is certainly far from 20 nm from the airport for a standard FL300) and the tweak : " Once in the file find the folder '1101 Primary Aerodynamics'. Look for '*CD_ds Drag Coefficient - Spoiler=', I have mine set to 387." given par Dillon in http://forum.avsim.net/topic/391213-plane-refuses-to-slowdown-on-approach/ gives your Airbus a Mig 29 characteristic ! An Airbus is NOT a fighter, useful tweaks for .air file was given by Fred Nikles in : http://www.deltava.org/http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0x1945c Happy Flyings Pierre
  14. Re .... But I see on your profile that you are on Linux. My experience is certainly not transferable to Wine emulation of Windows. Sorry Pierre
  15. Hi ahso, On my rig (Sabertooth P67 , i5 2500k, W8 Pro) FS9 installs perfectly and works without problem in windowed mode (run as administrator). But it is unable to switch to full screen mode even with XP compatibility mode. FPS currently 110/140 on KSEA unlimited. Pierre
  16. FSCommander 9.21 exports flightplans in P3D format. Pierre
  17. @Word Not Allowed In comparison with the own server of Active Sky (which is a very good idea and which permits to have historic weather as well), OpusFSX software gets its METAR from any source (for the time being, NOAA, Vatsim is still not implemented) without any verification and any interpolation. Winds aloft must be implemented (soon for 2 months !) and nowadays, wind depiction is completely insane from ground level to FL500. Stephen and Cheryl are struggling with various solutions to smooth the winds and reject FSUIPC smoothing (which is perfect for me and for many simmers, I suppose). So I agree with you, I'm staying with AS2012, Wideview and Ezdok. OpusFSX is only good to visual candy for the time being. Pierre
  18. And as related in your other thread, the last post of http://community.vat...nection-issues/ says : Since it's not been mentioned Stuart Duncan fixed this problem for Jamie. For the benefit of other user chappies, it appears his FS9 was not automagically joining the FSInn multiplayer session so it had to be joined manually (like wot I have to do on the rare occasions I fire up FS2002). Bill Casey G-BILL or EZY113 or BAW113 Pierre
  19. Thanks ! And sorry to have to wait for ^_^ Keep up the good work ! Pierre
  20. Hi Damian, Can we expect with SP2 the possibility to synchronize weather depiction between 2 or more instances of AS2012 ? I explain : I have a 3 machines configuration, each machine have FSX and AS2012 (3 licences) and these 3 machines are linked with WidevieW and WideTraffic. But, even with same configuration of each AS2012, the weather depiction on the 3 FSX are not similar, in timing and quality. So my question : can we expect a possibility to synchronize weather depiction on multi-machines configuration. Pierre
  21. Don't be sorry ^_^ You are lucky (to have no problems with your installation) Happy Flyings Pierre
  22. Why have you installed FS9 in Program Files(x86) folder ? It is a very known fact that we must install any FS program in a free folder in C:\ or better on another disk (and partition). Program Files (x86) folder is secured by W7 and any attempt to modify files in this folder is denied. Anyway, you can try to modify security settings of your H:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft games\Flight simulator 9 folder and authorize your user account to control, modify, read, write ...etc this folder content, but the best way to solve your problem is to reinstall correctly FS9 in "any non-system disk":\Flight Simulator 9\ folder. Hope this helps Pierre
Pierre
  24. Hi Jean-Paul, http://www.simforums.com/forums/live-weather-engine_topic42534_post251593.html?KW=years#251593 dernier paragraphe : Anyway, I hope that gives you some idea of our current plans regarding the weather engine, the development is ongoing and will continue, for at least another four years anyway. We have no intention keeping all this in-house and releasing an upgrade next year, that is not the way we work. All upgrades and enhancements are posted as soon as possible within the development cycle even if that means as beta versions. Bonne soirée. Pierre
