  1. Most important features are: SceneryManager can add or delete Sceneries from scenery.cfg more than one ScenerySet can be assigned to one profile. That gives you the ability to use it like "groups". XML-Manager can add or delete AddOns it shows the position of all saved flights in GoogleEarth The new version can be downloaded at my website: http://aviation.pero-online.de Would be nice if you guys donate for my work...
  2. 3d vision not working With p3dv2
  3. I'm curious to know if anybody is using this tool to force vSync and/or Triple Buffering on. There are some threads here at avsim together with FSX/DX10 but it obviously works with DX11 too. To read this thread at the guru3D forum may help too. http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=378546 I tried it and it works for me even with Windows 8.1 and I notice a quite nice increase in FPS but still not sure if it's true in any case. I've vSync/Triple buffer switched off in P3D v2 and switched on in nVidia CP but at guru3D they say this only works for OpenGL - I don't know. This explanation about vSync/Triple Buffering is also very interesting to read. http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=928593 Spirit
  4. I am a real world commercial pilot and flight instructor. One thing I have to point out (with the hopes and intentions of a fix/removal/etc) is the extremely unrealistic wet runway refraction. Is there a way to remove this effect/feature? Everytime the simulator weather has BR -RA RA +RA CB +CB TS or any other type of non frozen precip occurring, the runways and taxiways lose there immersion factor. From a pilots perspective in a heavy rain, most of the time we dont even use windshield wipers because of the speeds we travel at. Even still, a look out the front windscreen during a landing, like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDpuc6v6now, will show you what it SHOULD look like when the runway is wet. Prepar3d makes the runways look flooded and unusable due to hydroplaning. Anyways, is there a fix/trick/tip that I can apply to remove this feature? 5. Im sure this is a long...LONG shot (lol) but has anyone ever successfully converted an x-plane 10 scenery into P3D v2 (or FSX) There is a freeware Toronto scenery for XP10 that would be lovely to have.

  7. I think i have another temp fix which could help with the bouncing aircraft and allow people to keep tessellation turned on. Very simple test. Go to display settings and turn tessellation on then go to scenery settings and lower the texture resolution to 1m or around that amount ( you may be able to increase the setting if you get no boucing ), restart the sim and test with an aircraft you know will bounce when you taxi and fingers crossed it should stop. I have the Carenado CT182T installed which is a real bouncer for me and it no longer bounces when i taxi or take a trip down the runway.

  9. I recently purchased the Wilco TBM 850 for Pr3d v2. It installed ok and generally performs ok. However, there is one big problem that I have encountered: using the PFD or MFD to create an approach. I can select the type of approach such as an ILS, then when I want to choose the next type of fix or vectors, I can do that. Here is where the problem is: when I want to "activate the approach", it will not do anything and just sits there doing nothing. I wrote to Wilco support and they answered in a timely fashion. However, the answer they gave me did not seem to conform to be realistic. They told me to reinstall the aircraft and if that didn't work, to reinstall P3dv2. If everything is working ok except this particular function to activate an approach, what good would reinstalling anything do? If anyone else has this particular aircraft installed in P3dv2 and has it working properly, please let me know. At this point, I don't have a clue as to how to fix this, even if it can be fixed without a programming update from Wilco. I am running P3dv2 on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit and all the other aircraft that I have installed are working fine. So I doubt that it is P3dv2. Thanks to anyone who could provide some input on this.
  10. I just finished a flight from Chicago to St Louis in my CS777 using ASN. Upon nearing St Louis at FL100 and ABOVE the clouds, it was pouring rain or sleeting or snowing: Then, on approach (and through the clouds) no rain, sleet, or snow: But, upon landing and going to my Gate (which I know is not a Gate for a 777), it's raining.... Has anyone else seen this in P3DV2 or is this an ASN problem? Thanks. Best regards,
  11. Hello all, I am looking into the purchase of the above said AC. Did anyone try it out in P3Dv2.x already? Carenado states it would be compatible with P3D. But how about the latest version v2.2? Similar question: did anyone try out their Seneca II in P3D v2.x? I am interested in that one, too. Regarding this AC Carenado guarantees 'only' FSX compatibility. Thank you for your time and your feedback. Best Regards Frank
  12. EDWZ, EDWR, EDWJ, EDWL, EDWY East Frisian Islands - Germany - Five places to fly for peace, quiet and plenty of bracing North Sea air These five airports on the islands of Baltrum, Borkum, Juist, Langeoog and Norderney are all part of the East Frisian Islands off the coasts of Germany and Holland. Borkum is the largest of the islands, located just 30 kilometres from the mainland it is Germany’s most North-Westerly point. Although in the past it was for Whalers and pirates it is now part of a National Park, as indeed are all the islands, and is an unspoilt place to escape to and then spend the week flying from island to island. Borkum airport, which is one metre above sea level, has one asphalt runway exactly one kilometre long and two grass runways just short of a kilometre each. Baltrum is known as the sleeping beauty of the North Sea and is the smallest of the islands, whereas Juist is the longest at 17 Kilometres and is only 7 kilometres from the mainland. Norderley has special status with UNESCO World Heritage Status and Langeoog makes up the fifth island. Each of these islands boasts its own airport, ideal for island hoping with twenty combinations for different take-off and landing places. Purchase Now in the market place
  13. Previously, we had the ability to create and use Custom EventIDs in this range: // Third parties can use custom events in this range to communicate between 3D VC's and 2D C++ gauges. #define THIRD_PARTY_EVENT_ID_MIN 0x00011000 #define THIRD_PARTY_EVENT_ID_MAX 0x0001FFFFI've notice that this no longer seems to work: <MouseRect> <Cursor>Hand</Cursor> <MouseFlags>LeftSingle</MouseFlags> <EventID>0x11009</EventID> </MouseRect>However, this does work (assuming we have an event handler) <MouseRect> <Cursor>Hand</Cursor> <MouseFlags>LeftSingle</MouseFlags> <CallbackCode> (M:Event) 'LeftSingle' scmp 0 == if{ 0x11009 (>L:EVENT, bool) } </CallbackCode> </MouseRect>Is there something in Prepar3D v2 that is failing to recognize these via the <EventID> tokens?
  14. LFCC - Cahors Lalbenque is a local airfield for skydivers, situated 100km north of Toulouse (France). The region of Cahors is well known for its wines ^_^ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cahors). I have some relatives living in the vicinity of the fieldand during my 2 day visit there last summer, the sound of a Pilatus could be heard all day. http://www.parachutisme.com On a hot, lazy afternoon, we drove to the airfield in the heating August sun of Southern France, and treated the smallest ones of the family on a nice fresh drink, while we were all looking at the spectacle that was being performed in front, above and all around us. Time to visit the airfield again, but this time in the sim and with a Twin Otter and moments before sunrise. Guess that I woke the entire neighbourhood; and I expect to find the local gendarmerie waiting for me in the "buvette" (bar). Shots below are unedited, except for resizing to 1600pix and little sharpening to compensate this.
  15. After several days of developing I would like to proudly present Version 2.5. Main changes: The new StartManager makes it possible to create so-called RunSets which can assign to multiple SIMstarter profiles. You can define programs task-priority and the window mode. In addition its possible to modify existing RunSets which makes handling much easier JumpStart has the feature to select your starting position prior starting the simulator (looks pretty the same that in-game). For users who like JumpStart more than the normal view its possible to define "Jumpstart" as new starting screen FTX Global Regions can be switched before starting a profile (just set the path of your FTX Global and tick "FTX Central Reminder" in program settings) User manual is available in french. Thanks to Laurent who did that awesome work! Several bugfixes has been done as well... ;O) Please find download on my website! ;O) >>> DOWNLOAD <<<
  16. Hi All, I wish you a Merry Christmas and safe flying I have recently encountered a strange issue on my P3Dv2 which I have been using for over 2 months - all runway and taxi lights have gone missing since a few days earlier. Airport lights are missing even on default sceneries. I haven't change settings of P3D and install/uninstall sceneries before the issue happens. I am wondering if anybody could advise on possible cause of this and if there's anything which I should try to fix this? You may download 2 screenshots which show the issue from the link below. http://imageshack.com/a/img673/1928/90LkJZ.png http://imageshack.com/a/img901/862/HWFTDt.png My PC specs: i7-4770K @ 4.3GHz DDR3 1600MHz 16GB (8+8) Gigabyte GTX770 2GB 240GB SSD for OS, P3Dv2 installed on another 240GB SSD, plus 1TB mechanical HDD for storage Corsair CX750M PSU Major addons installed: Orbx FTX Global Base Orbx FTX Global Vector REX4 Texture Direct Taxi2Gate VHHH FSDT LAX, KJFKv2, KORD UK2000 Heathrow Xtreme FlyTampa Boston ImagineSim WSSS Mega Airport Frankfurt AeroSim RJFF, RJBB Regards, Alan
  17. Hey, At this time, I have tried everything from complete OS reinstalls along with all low textures from Rex Texture Direct and low settings / default settings / high settings in prepar3d.cfg and I just OOMs in FTX full fat areas like PNW-NRM-CRM-NCA (along with Global & Mesh only installed - no vector). No Orbx airports, I can't even enjoy them with OOM hits in P3D2.5. Weather - ASN with 4 layers And I am only flying A2A C182 and Commanche. Sure, I can save the flight by FSUIPC and use that, but that is just getting annoying and besides GTN750 requires me to have the flight plan saved in it prior to crash. If I don't save it, I have to enter it manually again. What gives? This is just getting ridiculous. If you want to see my pc specs - it is in my profile. My question for you all is - How are you able to enjoy the FTX regions or are you all just using FTX Global? Thanks, -skywolf PS - Yes, I know this is a 32bit app with limitations
  18. After about a month back on P3D v2.2 I am not certain that I have the "perfect" settings needed to make me %100 happy.....Here are my hardware & addons i7 3930k OC@ 4.3 GTX780 16GB 1600MHz RAM ASN, REX TD4, FTX GLOBAL+VECTOR, FSDT JFK/LAX/LSGG Few things I would like to discuss.... I really can't confirm if I am better off doing unlimited FPS or 30 with 1/2 refresh rate Inspector or Control Panel setup Affinity Mask settings manual, or prepared.cfg tweak Here is a still of my NI....would anybody do anything else to make a better performance? Of course turning down sliders would do this but I believe I am missing a tweak or settings that would make my P3D v2.2 a lot better. Or maybe forget NI and use the Control Panel of Nvidea (which I am seeing a lot more of online...) Here are some stills. I have also a Fibre Frame Time tweak of 0.15 applied (this helped quite a bit and got rid of some blurry issues) I would love for people to share their settings that worked out best for them. Keep in mind I am not really willing to compromise my graphics to get a better performance, of course I am aware that doing that would give me better frames. My hardware SHOULD give me good if not unreal performance since this is a new sim that came with many promises. At this point however, Id say it looks the same as FSX with just as good frames (if not worst at times).....I wouldn't give up my FSX just yet if this is all P3D v2.2 can give me...Am I doing something wrong?
  19. Anyone tried out FTX Global Vector in P3Dv2 yet? I'm really conerned about performance in combination with FTX Global and high resolution mesh. Are roads customizable? From the promo video I see that certain downtown areas look terrible because roads have killed the autogen.

  21. Happy new year fellow simmers! I hope 2014 is a good year for you all. I've decided to save up for a new PC as my laptop is showing its age with fsx. I'm just a bit concerned about the specs needed for good performance in P3DV2. I've seen mixed reviews about The performance of V2 when compared to FSX. Is there a clear difference between V2 and FSX that makes switching absolutely necessary? What is the real benefit? Is it really that much more GPU dependant? I'm eyeing up a prebiuilt Asus ROG desktop as it it gas turbogear, which overclocks the CPU to 4.1 GHz with litterally the click of a button. I know that building one's own system gives most people better performance for a better price, but I have limited knowledge of computer hardware and thus I'm more comfortable buying a decent prebuilt system. The system I'm looking at is actually cheaper than configuring my own on gaming computer websites. Keep in mind, I'm in Canada so shipping from US websites is usually too expensive. The problem is, the system has a GTX770, and I've seen on previous posta that a GTX780 is the best pairing for a 4770k. I want to get much better performance than I have now, but as a student saving for university and flying lessons, I'm on a somewhat tight budget. So, to sum up a long, wordy post, is P3DV2 worth it, and of so, would a GTX780 a necessity,or can I get away with a 770? Thank you and a very happy new year to you all!
  22. Playing with P3Dv2's volumetric fog is such a treat... atmospheric environment heaven  It can add subtlety, or drama to any flight.
