Im sure this is a long...LONG shot (lol) but has anyone ever successfully converted an x-plane 10 scenery into P3D v2 (or FSX) There is a freeware Toronto scenery for XP10 that would be lovely to have.

To those of you who follow the fantastic and generous work of Chris K, he has now published a beta version of CCYZ Toronto Pearson airport to complement the rest of the fantastic Toronto scenery available. It looks amazing!!! Get it here: http://forums.x-pilot.com/files/file/471-cyyz-toronto-pearson-airport/ Cheers Steve

I just published my review of Toronto Pearson for Microsoft Flight Simulator by FlyTampa. It took a while, but I've had to do some pretty extensive research to really see how far this one goes. I hope it's useful to get the full picture and there's plenty of video content for those who prefer to make their own judgment. https://twinfinite.net/2022/03/microsoft-flight-simulator-toronto-airport-review-cyyz/ The TLDR is that FlyTampa is as usual at the top of the industry in terms of craft. Textures, modeling, weathering, PBR, and optimization are all top notch, and if you want an airport that looks really stellar, it's easy to recommend this one. Yet, there is a but. There are several buildings that are outdated, and not by months, by several years, including a massive Air Canada hangar that is a very prominent feature of the airport. On top of that, the colors of the aprons and a couple of runways are iffy, and the 90% of the jetways are simply wrong (T1 and T3 jetways besides a few are identical, while they are very different in the real world, and the models FT made feels like it's an approximated hybrid of both, while matching neither). Also, PAPI and windsock don't work correctly. So yeah, it's a good airport, and I'm sure many will enjoy it throughly (I do, despite the flaws), but it really needs an update to do justice to FlyTampa's reputation. It feels that either it was rushed, or some of the required research for a truly top-notch rendition was omitted.

I just finished the final version (for now at least) of my GTA Enhancement Pack. Now the whole area should feel much more realistic. I have imported, edited and color corrected photogrammetry and added many 3D objects for many key areas that are prominent in VFR flying and IFT approaches to Pearson CYYZ and CYTZ. Now the city looks much more convincing. I even went totally bonkers when doing Wilson station right next to Downsview airport, and custom modeled/painted TTC buses and Coach Canada ones too. Then I seeded a few of those throughout the city as well. You can download it free at https://flightsim.to/file/538/greater-toronto-area-enhancement-pack if yuu like. Just wanted to share it. You can see some juicy photos in the spoiler below: Screenshots with some photogrammetry goodness: Here's the full info:

Hi, we’re Porter Virtual, a new VA simulating Toronto based Porter Airlines. Porter operates a Bombardier Q400 only fleet, flying to destinations in eastern Canada, the Northeast US, and seasonally to Florida and South Carolina. Almost every flight is out of the very interesting airport that is Toronto Billy Bishop, just a hop, skip, and jump from downtown Toronto. Along with Porter, we simulate the operations of their partners too! We expand the flying possibilities by flying JetBlue, Emirates, Qatar, El Al, and Sata. Plus we want to make being a pilot with us as simple as we can make it, so we chose smartCARS as our ACARS system of choice. It brings a seamless flight-to-PIREP system into play, and lets you chat with the community; we think you’ll love it. And to make things even better, Porter Virtual is run by a team of dedicated staff who are all die hard flight simmers. We constantly push out updates to our system, and always thrive for a greater experience for our pilots. Intrigued? Visit https://porterva.com/ for the whole scoop. Cheers! -The Porter Virtual Staff

Snow and snow and more snow, from Montreal to Toronto Island. Made for a nice overcast though! And an ILS to minimums! Broke out right at 250 feet!

Hello all, I haven't experienced oom for a long while since I dicovered the workaround to significantly reduce the risk of OOM (not to select STAR in preflight stage but before descent, because the VAS may continuously accumulate en-route if the STAR has a certain kind of missed approach precedure), but everything got ruined when I flew my PMDG 777 into CYYZ. I am just curious to know if there is someone who has successfully fly a PMDG 777 into Flytampa Toronto CYYZ. Even though I had a flight from Flightbeam KSFO HD to FSDT KLAX, I didn't experience OOM. My settings are definitely not agressive, but moderate. I have no idea why I still got OOM... I have tested the sceneries by Process Explorer, and noticed that 3.1 to 3.5GB VAS has been used just after I started the flight at gate and pan around the cockpit...I have FTX Global with Vector installed. You may say it consumes VAS so much and should be the cause of the OOM, but I have successfully made flights without OOM with the same settings and addons installed for almost a year. Therefore I think there should be some other reasons... In addition, although I have turned "Transparent Glass and Interiors" option ON, I still can't see through the glass of terminals. Does anyone here having any idea? Here are some crucial parameters in fsx.cfg LOD_RADIUS=4.5 TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD=4096 IMAGE_COMPLEXITY=4 AUTOGEN_DENSITY=3 Here are my settings in Flytampa Configurator: 3D Grass...OFF 3D Grass (ramp)...OFF 3D People...OFF Static Vehicles...OFF Animated Cars...OFF Animated Apron Traffic...OFF Transparent Glass and Interiors...ON (all options in "effect" section)...ON Animated Traffic Lights...ON Anson Cheung

I'm in Toronto and training R/L toward a PPL. I've been a long-time simmer. I'd like to sharpen radio and circuit skills. Wondering who is using either VATSIM, IAVO or Pilot Edge for Toronto. Also, when there's no ATC available, do these products allow a reasonable or even barely passable simulation of Unicom or ATF type communications & traffic? Who is using what product - where/when are the best chances to find like-minded pilots?
