A lot of people seem to be recommending the 4GB version above the 2GB particularly for muti display setups. However since the GTX770s memory bandwidth is 256bit (compared to GTX780s 3GB 384bit VRAM). I'm planning: i7-3770 (OC ~ 4GHz) GTX770 8GB DDR3 Mainly for X-Plane and some FSX. Q1) Am I going to be able to make good use of double the VRAM fon the 4GB card for the same memory bandwidth? Q2) Do I really need 4GB VRAM in the X-Plane server machine when I can network more PC's for additional views?

I was going to finish next week my PC for FSX, but new stuff show up on the market :( 1. I allready bought in good price gigabyte gtx 670 GV-N670OC-2GD and I can easy and very stable OC it from 980 to 1083mhz. 2. I ordered 3770K with asus z77 sabertooth motherboard but because of rare incompatibility between each of the items they still are at the shoop and im waiting for new 3770K Because new haswell, and gtx770 show up on the market I talk to my friend in shoop and he let me choose what i want to do. 1. I can switch from gigabyte 670 to gigabyte 770 and It will cost me extra about 100-120$ 2. I can cancel without a problem my order 3770K + Z77 motherboard and wait a little more for 4770K + Z87 motherboard which i think is more perspective (Broadwell) with 1150 socket than 1155 on Z77? What you think I shoudl do. I will be grateful for your advice

After about a month back on P3D v2.2 I am not certain that I have the "perfect" settings needed to make me %100 happy.....Here are my hardware & addons i7 3930k OC@ 4.3 GTX780 16GB 1600MHz RAM ASN, REX TD4, FTX GLOBAL+VECTOR, FSDT JFK/LAX/LSGG Few things I would like to discuss.... I really can't confirm if I am better off doing unlimited FPS or 30 with 1/2 refresh rate Inspector or Control Panel setup Affinity Mask settings manual, or prepared.cfg tweak Here is a still of my NI....would anybody do anything else to make a better performance? Of course turning down sliders would do this but I believe I am missing a tweak or settings that would make my P3D v2.2 a lot better. Or maybe forget NI and use the Control Panel of Nvidea (which I am seeing a lot more of online...) Here are some stills. I have also a Fibre Frame Time tweak of 0.15 applied (this helped quite a bit and got rid of some blurry issues) I would love for people to share their settings that worked out best for them. Keep in mind I am not really willing to compromise my graphics to get a better performance, of course I am aware that doing that would give me better frames. My hardware SHOULD give me good if not unreal performance since this is a new sim that came with many promises. At this point however, Id say it looks the same as FSX with just as good frames (if not worst at times).....I wouldn't give up my FSX just yet if this is all P3D v2.2 can give me...Am I doing something wrong?

Happy new year fellow simmers! I hope 2014 is a good year for you all. I've decided to save up for a new PC as my laptop is showing its age with fsx. I'm just a bit concerned about the specs needed for good performance in P3DV2. I've seen mixed reviews about The performance of V2 when compared to FSX. Is there a clear difference between V2 and FSX that makes switching absolutely necessary? What is the real benefit? Is it really that much more GPU dependant? I'm eyeing up a prebiuilt Asus ROG desktop as it it gas turbogear, which overclocks the CPU to 4.1 GHz with litterally the click of a button. I know that building one's own system gives most people better performance for a better price, but I have limited knowledge of computer hardware and thus I'm more comfortable buying a decent prebuilt system. The system I'm looking at is actually cheaper than configuring my own on gaming computer websites. Keep in mind, I'm in Canada so shipping from US websites is usually too expensive. The problem is, the system has a GTX770, and I've seen on previous posta that a GTX780 is the best pairing for a 4770k. I want to get much better performance than I have now, but as a student saving for university and flying lessons, I'm on a somewhat tight budget. So, to sum up a long, wordy post, is P3DV2 worth it, and of so, would a GTX780 a necessity,or can I get away with a 770? Thank you and a very happy new year to you all!
