October 22, 201213 yr Hi, I've just re-installed FSX on a new computer (Windows 7) and most everything is back up and running. I have a problem with the Bell 206B, I cannot get it to display propery. It almost looks like some textures are missing. Here is a screenshot. Any suggestions? Dave Westbury
October 22, 201213 yr Make sure you have the following in the Graphics section of the FSX.cfg: highmemfix=1. Thanks. Best regards, Jim Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! October 23, 201213 yr Author Thanks Jim, I do have the highmemfix in my cfg file. I have since discovered that if I turn on the DX10 preview the Bell 206 displays properly but without DX10, it does not. Dave Dave Westbury
October 23, 201213 yr That's strange. It should be the other way around. FS9 textures are not compatible with DX10 and will only work in DX9. Is this the default Bell 206 or an addon? Did you download and install new textures for the helicopter. If this is the stock Bell, then the textures should be showing in DX9 AND DX10. October 24, 201213 yr Author In retrospect they could be downloaded textures. I installed FSX from the original CDs but after the installation was finished I mapped a drive to my old PC and copied in the Simobjects directory to get all my addon aircraft, so my original Bell 206B directory would have been overwritten. Do you know if there is a way to retrieve the original textures from the CDs without having to reinstall? Dave Dave Westbury
October 24, 201213 yr you know if there is a way to retrieve the original textures from the CDs without having to reinstall? You can insert the fsx disk and run a repair when prompted. If you have Acceleration installed, you'll have to do a repair there too. You should save your working scenery.cfg (in C:\ProgramData folder) and I would save the folder where your FSX.cfg, dll.xml, exe.xml files are located. You can then copy those files back once the repair is complete. A repair will not affect any addon as long as you save these files and return them once the repair is done. October 26, 201213 yr Author Hi Jim, I did a repair of FSX SP2 and that cured the problem. Many thanks for your input, you've been a great help! :Applause: Dave W Dave Westbury
