ATN Gauge Alternative for FSX (Pushback steering with arrow keys)
I'm using this gauge in FSX and FSX Steam Edition and the Tug Push/Pull and Taxi functions are all working for me (and pushback steers with the rudder). The gauge is called atn_pushback_gau12.zip but I'm not sure where I found it. I'm running on Win 7 64-bit. Cheers, Dave W

Missing Aircraft Lights
Solved! The content of the FSX_SE Effects folder was missing. Copied the Effects folder from FSX into FSX_SE and solved the problem. Thanks

Missing Aircraft Lights
I've lost the lights (Nav, Strobe, Landing, etc.) from all my aircraft. No lights, day or night. So, I assume I've accidentally moved or deleted a directory. Can anyone tell me where these textures are stored in FSX_SE or FSX? I am running FSX and FSX_SE side by side and the lights are working in FSX, so once I know their location I can copy them back into FSX_SE. Thanks,

Black Screen Issues - Repair Question
I thought I would add this comment for anyone about to attempt a repair of FSX. I inserted the FSX disk 1 and choose the repair option. When the repair function completed I tried to run FSX but during the load process it aborted with a "Fatal Error" message. ("Flight Simulator has experienced a fatal error and will now close".) I rebooted the computer and started up FSX again but the "Fatal Error" message was still there. Next I reinstalled Service Pack 1 and it completed successfully. Tried FSX again but still had the error. With nothing left to lose I decided to install Service Pack 2. When the installation started a pop-up screen appeared giving me two options for SP2. The first was to do a repair of Service Pack 2, the second was to un-install it. I choose the repair option. When the process finished I tried FSX again. Success!!! No more error message and no more black screens. My advise, if you're attempting an FSX repair, carry on despite the error messages and complete the process before you give up. The repair is a lot easier then starting all over from scratch and having to re-install all those many, many add-ons! Cheers, Dave W

Black Screen Issues - Repair Question
I used the FSX disks to run the repair, then re-installed SP1 and then SP2, and that solved the problem. Thanks to everyone here in the forum, the help was much appreciated! Cheers, Dave W

Black Screen Issues - Repair Question
Thanks for the info. I think a repair is the best option for me. There is no photo scenery on my system and if I wait after the black screen appears there is no drive activity. Waited 60 mins but the aircraft selection screen remains black, so I must assume something else is causing the problem. Today I'm enroute from Florida back to Ontario (a Snowbird eh!) so I'll follow up with my results once I'm back home ans settled in. Cheers, Dave W

Black Screen Issues - Repair Question
It was an FSX aircraft downloaded from Simviation, but according to the site this particular file has over 8,000 downloads so I don't think the file itself was the problem.

Black Screen Issues - Repair Question
When I booted up FSX today the Aircraft selection screen was completely black and when I proceed into FSX the main screen is also completely black. After searching the forums for answers I've tried a system restore (Win 7) but the problem remains. Deleted the fsx.cfg but when FSX is rebuilding the .cfg file I get a message that it cannot find the default flight file and the process aborts. Now I'm at the stage where I'll have to try and repair FSX. Question: Do I need to un-install SP1 and SP2 before I run the repair? or can I just run repair and then re-install SP1 and 2?, assuming the repair solves the problem. I'm sure this problem is self-inflicted but for the life of me I can't figure out what caused it. I did install an add-on aircraft this morning but I've deleted it from the SimObjects directory but that didn't help.

Default Flight always starts in VC view
Tried changing option to 2D but the flight still loads with a view of the 2D cockpit, not the Spot view that was saved with the flight.

Default Flight always starts in VC view
I've saved a flight at my local airport with my favourite aircraft on the ramp and I'm looking at it in the spot plane view. I save the flight and also make it the default flight. Here's the curiious part. The next time I start FSX it loads my default flight but it always loads it in the virtual cockpit view, not in the spot view that was in use when I saved the flight. But.... if I load the same flight when FSX is already running (from the Free Flight screen) it starts in the spot view just the way I saved it. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Obviously its not the end of the world if I don't solve this, but I'm really curious as to what is going on. Cheers, Dave W

FSX Road Traffic Problem
Thanks for all the help guys. The problem was indeed caused by the Road Surface Textures in UTX. Cheers, Dave W

FSX Road Traffic Problem
On some roads, ususally divided highways there are images of road traffic imbedded in the road texture itself and the moving road traffic appears above them. The attached jpeg shows the problem. My addons are UTX USA, UTX Canada and Orbx Pacific Northwest. I'm hoping someone my have experienced this problem and can suggest a solution. Thanks.

FSX time doesn't change.
Try loadng up FSX, correct the time and then re-save your default start-up flight.

Bell 206B texture problem
In retrospect they could be downloaded textures. I installed FSX from the original CDs but after the installation was finished I mapped a drive to my old PC and copied in the Simobjects directory to get all my addon aircraft, so my original Bell 206B directory would have been overwritten. Do you know if there is a way to retrieve the original textures from the CDs without having to reinstall? Dave

Bell 206B texture problem
Thanks Jim, I do have the highmemfix in my cfg file. I have since discovered that if I turn on the DX10 preview the Bell 206 displays properly but without DX10, it does not. Dave

Bell 206B texture problem
Hi, I've just re-installed FSX on a new computer (Windows 7) and most everything is back up and running. I have a problem with the Bell 206B, I cannot get it to display propery. It almost looks like some textures are missing. Here is a screenshot. Any suggestions?
